Deck install issue, Pioneer - Click HERE for Original Thread

Car_Be_Gone
ok...posting this here too just in case...

...bought the deck off one of you, assured it had all the parts... Anyways, apparently the main plug thinger-majigger that plugs into the back of the deck is missing half its wires so need to find one... Pioneer DEH3600
Yes we have already tried to splice it together...not so much luck
I have no friggin' clue what's it called...main power supply plug thingy
Future Shop doesn't carry them, nor JB's...any ideas or anyone have one kicking around ? :fingersx:

Thanks in advance!

When you buy most decks you get half a wiring harrness (thats what that thingy is called that plugs in to the deck). You then go and buy the trim kit (a plastic trim that makes up the gap around the deck and your dash) that is made for your car. You also have to buy the other half of the harrness that plugs into your cars connectors ( the ones that were plugged into the stock deck) the other end you have to splice to the decks harrness. Some decks only have one connector with wires coming out of it, some have two. if yours should have two then you might want to get ahold of the person you bought it off. Keep in mind you don't always have something plugged into every socket on the back of the deck. If any of this didn't make any sense let me know and I will try to explain it better. I hope none of this came across as an ass, I just don't know how much you know about stereos. Also if the person you bought it off doesn't have the rest of the harrness you might have to try pioneer to see if they still stock that harrness and they can ship you one.

i have a few harness's you can try them and if i have the right one, you can have it for say, $10.

Car_Be_Gone
LOL...no you don't sound like an ass and no I don't know much about stereos.
Yes I know about the harness/secondary wires, got the trim kit too to fill in the gaps. The part that is missing is the actual power clip (mine does have two outlets and everything is connected...but no friggin power clip thingy...when we took it in the told us that the wiring that comes with the deck should include so many wires and mine is 2 short...and it's the main power supply connection. Basically, simply put...plug for back of deck is broken and need new one
perhaps I'll have to take a pic so you guys know WTF I am talking about...LOL

Car_Be_Gone
naaaaah, all is good. It works so I am happy :D

elrhyso
did your "car angel" cram two wires in the holes where the others were missing? i've done that on two or three installs... it's ghetto, but it works. beats trying to order a new clip- also, if you had noticed it ahead of time you could have told the guy you wanted the price chopped in half. live and learn  enjoy the stereo.
