Brake Question - Click HERE for Original Thread

Austindsm
I just got the front rotors on my Skyline GTR machined and i put on WAGNER Thermo Quiet pads in the front. i Have driver a couple kilometers and my brakes barely stop my car. before if i slammed on my brakes my car would skid now it slowly comes to a stop.

I was wondering if the brake pads i used are any good? or if it will take a while to break them in(couple days)?

you might have to bed the brakes in

Did they spray any anti corrosion stuff on after they returned them? If so, did you clean it off? If you didn't, it'll take longer for them to settle. Last time I used Wagner pads I had alot of success, they stop the car pretty hard, but I didnt machine or replace the rotors. When I used the cheaper Canadian Tire Jasper pads with brand new rotors it took me about a month before brake feel was optimial.

is the pedal soft or har with the car off.

then you know if its the pad/rotors or airlock.

Oh and first and foremost, did you bleed the brakes?

Austindsm
nope i did not bleed the brakes.

I put my old pads back in today which have about 70% life left and since to rotors have been machined it doesnt make any squeking noises anymore. And it stops alot better that it ever did.

If the old pads work fine, then you probably just need to set in the new pads, no biggie.
