Hello ladies and gentlemen,
Does anyone currently have, or ordered the above mentioned item before? www.jetchip.com
I am considering purchasing this item for one of my rides. However I am not certain as to what to expect. Specifically what is a reasonable time delay I should expect from when I order it. Do I really need to send my ECU for reprograming or can I just get the chip and install it myself?
I have sent these questions to the Jet Chip, however I have yet to recieve a reply.
I can order directly from Jetchip or an authorized dealer.
I notice that MOPAC is an authorized Jetchip dealer. Do I need to bring my ECU to them to get it shipped, or can I order a chip through them. See where I am going with this.
I want to minimize down time on my car and want to do it the most effeciently and economically.
Any feed back is appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Mike Nikolai |

As far as I know you just get the chip. It will come with the instructions and it shows you which chip you are replacing on the board. You might have to get the old one de-soldered and the new one soldered back in. One can do it themselves.

Hi Crazyrz7,
After a follow up call to MOPAC and to JetChip I found that I do need to send my ECU in for re programming. I can order it from MOPAC (which had a very good price), Jet chip provides the instructions for shipping and all the details as to exactly what I need to do. Apparantly down time is supposed to be only a couple days as that would include shipping "overnight" and reprogramming the same day recieved. However I would plan on more like a week to two weeks for it to clear customs and also knowing my luck!

You can never rely on the shipping times quoted. Expect to wait at least 5-7 buisness days.

Hi R.K,
Yes, agreed. That is why I expect my car to be down for 3 weeks at the most. Normally things delivered by Fed Ex are fairly quick. I may pay extra for the Fed Ex just for the piece of mind. It is the USPS that drives me nuts. Once took me 3 months to get something delivered to my place by "Air Mail". I was ready to get a chuckwagon and Oxen to see if I could go down there purchase a new part and ride back before it showed up at my place.
