yup, incredible car, really dissapointing to hear its pretty much just a design excercise :(

SketchifisT
Yeah after watching Top Gear they said they did it just to prove they could.

I hope they put it into production that would be a car i would love to own

I like it but the front overhang is too long. It looks disproportionate to my eye.

575 newton meter = 424 pound foot

good god that's nuts

the sound the car makes is amazing , gotta love the subaru engines and external wastegates

Xtra_X

Totally agree with you on that, it just sounds like a meaner STI x10.

This is something I could see myself owning.

I think one of the reasons it's just a tech showcase is the use of a misfiring system or the 'anti-lag'. From long debate on how it works and it's legality (i'll admit it, on initial-d forums) i've heard it's very illegal in almost every country because of the insanely loud repeating pop crak poping noises from the tail pipe after every release of the gas. Plus James' article in top gear explains basically that the misfiring systems inject the exhaust with gas thus igniting it to spin up the turbine. I can only imagine how this will murder your turbo!

Thegnome
Beautiful...I want one... I dont even have a turbo :(

just finished watching it and omg, the car is awsome..3.8 sec 0-60 and the stability control thing in the middel is pretty neat.175 mph top speed. and it looks good to.

to be built up from an economy class K-car to those kind of handling and power numbers is just amazing , it is not like they started from a decent sports car and made it better .... they made something out of nothing

layed521
Although it's a very nice, insane car, it is nothing that special. They used a Subaru EJ20-series engine, not even an EJ257 out of the new ones. For the price of that engine build and the price of the car build, you could have a similar performing STi. And you don't look like a kit car. Although it is about 1000 pounds heavier.

then NO you would not have a similar car at all ...and the drivetrain and suspension setup are completely different ...this car was engineered to handle flawlessly and go fast .... not a heavy pig STI with some modifications , this thing would be faster than Solberg WRC Subaru anyday

That car is rediculously ugly.:dunno:
