| How much would it cost me to have a brand new OEM nissan 300zx tt front bumper painted and installed? do you add flex agent to the paint? and do you warranty your work? if yes, how long is the warranty? how many stages are your paint jobs? i'm looking for a high quality paint job, so I was told by many people to check with you guys. |

Hi,
The price to do everything is $570.
This price includes:
*removal of the old piece
*painting of the new bumper
*install of the new bumper
We won't add flex agent since it's a brand new OEM bumper and doesn't need it.
Warranty is lifetime against paint peeling.
As for coats, you'd be looking at 1 coat of plastic primer, 2 and half coats of base, and 2 and half coats of clear.
Anymore questions feel free to ask away :) |

urathane (sp?) tends to bend a lot and without adding flex agent the paint can start to crack faster and much easier...and if a rock hits the bumper it will take out more paint? am I right or wrong? How much more would it cost to add flex agent?...I imagine $20-40 range.
thanks for the fast reply. |

| Those bumpers aren't urenthane. They are plastic. If a rock hits it, it will chip regardless. It should never "crack" though due to a rock chip. And it won't take out more paint if prepped properly. It's not like the flex agent is a thick coating. It's super thin. But if you really want it, I can add it in for you for no extra charge. |

I ment crack due to the bumper bending, and thanks for the offer of adding the flex agent in for free!...but I thought flex agent in fixed into the paint?...I'm not autobody guy so please inform me.:) Also the steps you told me that you would do...is that called a "3 stage" paint job? |

Flex agent is an additive to the primer (Either you mix it in, or it comes pre-mixed).
Some people also claim that they don't get the same shine in their paint when flex agent is added.
True or not - I won't comment. But that's the experience of some.
Myself, I feel with the right paint and adhesion promotor (And some skill), flex agent isn't needed with it. For a novice painter, I'd advise adding in flex agent. But going through Will/Van, I'd say you'll be just fine without ;) |

ok sounds good...can I hold you to that?:) |

yes you can hold TrevorK to that :-)
but like I said, if you really want it, I will spray it on.
your oem bumper shouldn't "flex" enough for it to crack. Usually bumpers that like to crack are urethane bodykit bumpers which are gigantic.
I don't know what color your 300 is. But I'm guessing it's not 3 stage. 3 stage is an extra coat of usually pearl or metallics on top of your base, and then clear coat. Therefore being 3 stages. Yours is probably just base and clear.
Hope that helps |

on the bumper? I don't think that would work to well, I think i'm just going to get the bumper painted and it comes with a bumpy texture on it anyways...it's an OEM rockguard...I think it will come with it on the new bumper from the factory...If not, Will. can you duplicate the texture for me...it's on all of the bottom of my car...I'm not sure if you are familiar with it or not. |
