| its a 5.0L v12 so the gas probably wont be too bad on it, except for the fact that it probably uses a high octane fuel. still a small price to pay for such a beauty. Would u really be thinking about gas mileage cruising around in this thing? btw the mileage is on the post (93,000 kms i think) |

| Its not great on gas keep in mind its a very heavy car. Car and Driver showed a best of 18mpg in the auto and 19mpg in the 6 speed. Its designed for cruzing the highway in style. |

| The north american spec is rated at 300 hp but the eurospec is said to have a bit more (thats just what i have read on forums, nothing official). but yea somewhere around 300 |

It's rated power is around 300hp/332 ft-lbs tq ... and obviously there are badder BMW's now.. but at the time.. this was one of the most exclusive. The dinan engine chip.. on this car adds
Peak Horsepower Gain: 33 @ 5500 rpm
Peak Torque Gain: 34 lb/ft @ 4500 rpm

gas prices scare me these days...and i think my 3.2TL burns enough (despite it being rather fuel efficient)... |

Yea the gas does scare some people. I would say that it wouldnt be that much of a leap from your corvette as far as gas goes. The car has 3 drive modes(one for cruising, one for speeeed, one for gas conservation). So depending on how you drive it, its not that bad. Anyways, if you love the car the gas wont bother you. I never imagined myself owning a car that had a v12 because of the gas...but when im cruising in the 850 all those concerns go away. My mom, who wants to buy one of those hybrid toyotas to save the planet is now trying to pressure me into keeping it so she can drive it. Also, this car most likely would not be used as a daily driver so gas really wouldnt be that much of a concern.:) |

Very true Mike...although I must say unless I'm driving the piss out of my Corvette, generally, it has decent gas mileage. On the highway, I've average about 30 mpg (cruising at 150 km/h in 6th gear...this seems to be the efficiency sweet spot for the vehicle).
City...depending on if I launch it like a bat out of hell off of every light, I can get about 18 to 19 mpg...but generally, given the way I drive this vehicle, I usually see an average of 15 mpg... |
