DIY Bumper repair Job, Mitsubishi Eclipse - Click HERE for Original Thread

n0c7
Took me about a week, actually stripped it down back in November before it got cold but left it in the corner until last week. Spent a few hours a night for a week to repair, prep, prime, and paint. I shot the paint in my neighbours garage because I don't have my seperate circuit running for the compressor. He had shitty lighting and it was hard to see what I was doing so I have some drips to buff out, nothing I havent done before. Enjoy! Painting is fun.

Finishing prepping:

Rockguard, tried something new to keep the fibreglass from hitting direct pavement, heard it works well:

Hand washing prior to priming:

Fresh coat of primer surfacer:

My happy ass getting the HVLP gun ready to spray the top coat:

Spraying top coat:

Yay for non-ventaliated neighbours garages:

First coat:

Second coat on:

Thanks TrevorK for the advise and tips.

Haha, whenever I get caught up with the rest of the bullshit I'll have more time to mess around with the stuff that I want to do. You get it ready, I'll spray it.

Ryan: thanks man.

Jo/90teg: Nope, I'm on the north end, far north at the edge of the city by Namao centre.

Haha, everyone says they liked the camouflage look. As for the offers to paint, I'm not good enough to do it for money yet, just practice work right now. Thanks for the offers. :)

If you've got some space to work with and the paint, I'm sure we could arrange something. ;)

Looks good man.

Did you spray a clear, or does it come premixed with the clear?

Single stage, you could still clear on top of it as well if you use the right activator but not necessary.

FCUK_HONDA
clear it clear it,
protect your paint better and itll give it a nicer shine.

You don't need to clear single stage paint.

If you wanted to clear it, you would have been better off with a base/clear system in the first place.

Couple of pics of it back on the car:

Still have some polishing left to do but it can wait, was more concerned about getting the car back together than cleaning it up. Wont look as nice in person until I get around to it. :p
