that was some bs. this is related to the street racing article in the sun and my idea of a controlled track environment(not street racing) i dont see why that thread was closed. there was no talk of street racing. just a solution to control it and keep it safe. besides soulflys dumb ass comments. i noticed that some of the people were impressed by the idea of having a track built somewhere (off the streets) so people can go race safely and not have to worry about tickets, police or injuring or killing someone.

i dont see how it makes 780 look foolish or anymore foolish.there is nothing wrong about finding a safe alternative to keeping racing off the streets. anyways flame away if you must. but i think it was a good idea.

Soulfly
How was it a 'dumb ass' comment.. When some people agreed that it'd be a good idea? :dunno:

sneakyCIVIC
please dont post in this thread anymore.

It would sound good to a 10 year old. Anyone else would realise that it couldn't possibly work in real life.:dunno:

sneakyCIVIC
how so? explain. maybe its just me but i see it working no problem. yeah it would have some issues that would need to be worked out at first. but maybe get the police involved to help out. because if they are so concerned about people street racing as they say they are then this could be good for them too.

Well for one there is the HUGE liability isssue of the city allowing something like this to go on.

But lets say they were up for it. They would have to find a road that is out of the way and lightly used. But don't forget nearby residents would complain about noise, so it would have to be out of town. Then it's too far for people to go, and they'll just go from a light.

That's just a couple things. There is plenty more.

this doesnt excuse the fact that edmonton has but one track with very very limited availability and costs too much to even use it. with the cost to race and the cost of gas..the goverment doesnt care about prevention, they dont care about the loss of life, they ONLY care about political points. if they were genuinely concerned they would be sitting down to think about ways to cut down and make it safer rather then just telling everyone that its even more illegal then it already was..yup thats a perfect strategy..it was already illegal and people still did, so lets just make it even more illegal and it will all stop..perfect idea.

   Couldn't agree more....

sneakyCIVIC
well it was worth a shot anyways. i just wanted to see everyone elses views on it. but what do you mean by it will make it more illegal. maybe i misread but that doesnt make sense if the police are involved and its a controlled environment off the street.
