i was talking to a friend that works at newfie speed & sport (canadian tire) the other day about out of province and out of country inspections. i didn't even know an Out of Country inspection even existed, i thought they were all out of province?
anyways he goes on with his ramblings about how CT has this government contract nationwide to do out of country inspections and nobody else has been given the go ahead to do any of these and so on and so on. he goes on to say that (we were talking about skylines at the time for whatever reason) they wouldn't pass anymore skyline inspections in canada since they don't have the right bumpers. i kept my mouth shut but i was under the impression that the 15 year rule sort of exempted them from having to pass the 5kph or 8kph impact test or whatever the hell he was going on about.
anyways, basically i was wondering if there was any truth to this at all or if (as suspected) he's talking out of his ass and should be slapped down for being dumb and working at CT for $10/hr |

Sounds like BS, I've heard nothing, Transport Canada's website doesnt mention this. And yes 15 ear old cars are exempt |

| Yes it is true that cars that are under the 15yr rule need a Federal Inspection. Unfortunately it is also true that crappy tire are the only ones that are allowed to perform this inspection. |

Cars that are 15 years old DO NOT need Federal Inspections, only provincial inspections. 15 year old cars are not a prescribed class to which the Motor Vehicle Safety Act applies.
The only way I think I could have misread your post is if "cars that are under the 15yr rule" means cars that are less than 15 years old. |
