so who is all going to be there?
It looks like I will be there with the BBQ but no car.
I had forgotten that there is a problem with either
a bearing or the brakes on the front and I just don't have the
time to check it out before the weekend:(
just happy I have the time to make it out to socialize.

something that should be posted as a sticky but here it is "
from tracker"
"
- Upon arriving at the main gate, you might need to stop and identify yourself as attending an event from the RX-7 Club. (don't park and leave your car, this is a drive-through gate).
- Follow the instructions to go to the Airfield gate.
- Park your car and go inside the control office. Identify yourself (with your driver's license) to get access to the Airfield. DON'T FORGET TO STOP ON YOUR WAY OUT TO SIGN OUT (Unless instructed to not do so).
- Once you pass this gate, a volunteer will be waiting for you to do your registration. At this point you will:
a) sign a waiver for insurance purposes. EVERYBODY PRESENT TO THE EVENT MUST SIGN THE WAIVER, EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT DRIVING.
b) Show your driver's License and car registration. If the car does not belong to you, YOU SHOULD HAVE A SIGNED LETTER STATING THAT YOU ARE AUTHORIZED TO USE THE CAR DURING THE EVENT.
c) Pay the fee if you haven't done yet. Cash only. If you are a member of our club, confirm your membership number and get a discount.
d) Get your TECH/Registration form and sign it.
- Park your car on the pit area and go prepare your car (tires, clean up interior, etc...). DO NOT PARK ON THE GRASS (Even if it is covered with snow...).
- Once the car is ready, go to TECH your car with your registration form (very important) and get a number assigned to EACH DRIVER. If you have more than one driver per car, you will be in different groups. There is a maximum of 2 drivers per car (exceptions apply). Numbers are assigned in order of attendance. If you have painted numbers or pre-assigned magnetic number, too bad!!! We assign the numbers as the cars are checked. It helps organizing and timing the cars. Sorry for the inconvenience
- Next step is the Driver's Meeting. EVERYBODY SHOULD ATTEND the driver's meeting otherwise you don't run. Once the meeting is finished, we would either walk the course (weather permitting) or drive SLOWLY through the course.
- Each set of runs is done by half of the cars (eg. 1-20) while the other half is MARSHALLING (eg. 21-40). On our events EVERYBODY works, otherwise we beat you with a stick and flat your tires... More details on the driver's meeting.
- Times will be broadcasted by FM Radio (88.1MHz). If you go to timing and keep asking your time after each run, you will be handed a stopwatch and will do manual timing until the end of the event!!!
- If you enjoyed the event, please consider staying until the end and help cleanup the track. The faster we do the cleanup, the later we can stay using the track for runs...
Thanks for you help.

forgot about directions for anyone who doesnt know.
in case anyone else needed directions.
also I reminder not to do anything stupid that might end the use of the base for the clubs.
Directions:
You must sign in at two locations to gain access to the Air Strip.
OBEY ALL SPEED LIMITS ON BASE (they range from 50 km/hr to as low as 20 km/hr). The Military Police WILL ticket you.
These directions start from 97 St. & 137 Ave Edmonton.
At 137 Ave. & 97 St., reset your trip odometer. Go north on 97 Street out of Edmonton.
Take Exit "Edmonton Garrison" (Hwy 28A / 97 St..) approx. 5.7 km north of 137 Ave.
OBEY ALL SPEED LIMITS.
NO STUNTING on Base Property.
Go straight North after the 4 way stop intersection (approx. 8.0 km north of 137 Ave / 97 St.).
OBEY ALL SPEED LIMITS.
Turn right (East) at the next Avenue (Churchill - approx 9.0 km north of 137 Ave / 97 St. - watch for a white UN tank at this corner and a checkpoint building).
Park. Go into the building to the North of where you are parked and tell them you are with the group that is racing on the Air Strip. Sign in with the guard on duty. Be prepared to produce ID (driver's license) and provide your vehicle plate number.
Continue east on Churchill Ave. to a stop sign. Turn left (North). Proceed to the next stop sign at Vimy Ave. Turn right (East). You will arrive at the air strip gate. There is another building there. Park and go inside and sign in again.
Enter the Runway gate when it is opened for you and proceed toward the far end. Courses vary in location - most often we are on the taxiways that are located to the Northeast - look for cars parked off then main strip on the taxiways - this will be the location of the course. Drive the speed limit on the Runway (60 km/h).
Thanks in advance for your cooperation to comply with the needs of the Base.
ENJOY THE EVENT |

| When would be the very last moment to change the vehicle that you would be driving to the event? I'm having some confusion on that matter. |

The way they've done for other events I've been to both through us and the NASCC, the advice is send in the info for all of them, and bring to one you decide on...
The base prefers separate forms for all of them too, if I understand right, but that might just be the NASCC since their forms are online.
Is that right Fernando? |

Unfortunately it is... I did what I could and managed to sneak a couple of people past the deadline but that's it. I've just closed the final list and will be sending the amendments to the base tomorrow morning with an apology and a box of chocolates!
But you can register for August 26th. Be one of the first ones!!!
Thanks,
