yes.
and petro's 91 has a fucked up blend as well.
the next time i get in an invoice for that shit i will post it up.

I stay away from blended gasoline.

crazyrx7
Ethenol blended gas actually leans out your a/f. If you are able to richen up the a/f ratio I would by about 3.5-5%.

i just am awaiting e85:)

there is promiss in that fuel.

I saw on a tv show somewhere that an SUV tankfull of E85 (100L i guess) is equal to feeding one person bread for a year.

McFly
yup buts its already 20 cents less per gallon in the states and its only at 650 stations:)

E85 is gasoline blended ethanol.

E85 is also needs 150% of the fuel requirement compared to gasoline, so from a fuel economy perspective it still has a long way to go.

McFly
so far the guys running it in there 13b's have seen power go up and fuel economy stay near the same.

also its 85ethanol/15gas

I am looking forward to it becuase its a renewable resource.

Plus 3% of ethanol just screws stuff up when your tuned for 91.

Do you have any empirical evidence for this? If you are referring to this threadrx7 thread then you know that the discussion about improving the efficency of an engine to compensate for the massive drop in BTU/gallon was a theoretical discussion.

Here's another thread

There is more power potential from ethanol blending, but not efficency in the near future.

McFly
no its the thread title something something e85:dunno:

If that is true, then a stock Toyota 3SGTE could see a benefit from the Husky 94, given that Toyota's stock settings are notoriously on the pig rich side...

crazyrx7
Its true for the fd's.

I have had good results with 94 in my car. And i still can get approx 500 kms to a tank in the city. 450kms if there is a track day involved.

Although i have tired shell 91 and esso 91 and they seem to do the same. Simmilar millage but on a hot day i can hear a little detonation (high boost and heatsoaked) while driving next to a wall. Never with 94 and A/F was great on the dyno.

euro_fcuk
would you say ethanol blended fuel is alright on boosted engines then?

i ran it on my stock ecu, but i havnt ran 94 on my chipped ecu so i dont know if my car will respond good or not.

Also from my understanding ethanol blended fuel dries out gaskets prematuerly.

Rich_A
So what would you guys recommend me putting in my Skyline?

eth blended 94 or:

1. Esso (whatever 7-11 has)
2. Extra Foods gas
3. Petro
4. Shell

Praylewd powr
Ethanol will be harsh on the rubber gaskets, etc in older fuel systems. But I read that if you look at manufacturers user manuals, you can use ethanol blend fuel as far back as 10 or 15 years ago.

As for the fuel, it runs much, much cleaner. However even after tuning for it, I found that the cylinder temps just went too hot for my liking. After tuning for both shell 91 and husky 94, I am going back to shell 91. After reading plugs from husky 94, I don't want to run it. Plus you need to run a much richer mixture than 91 octane I found. To control the heat I needed a 10.7 AFR mixture on 94 versus a 11.7AFR mixture on shell 91.

Cheaper to run 91 and more power at same boost.

Hi PiMpIn SmUrF,

If you search the Archives you will see that this thread has been brought up many of times. Infact I created a thread in the Archives section dedicated to this. Below is the link to what I am refering to.

http://forums.780tuners.com/showthr...;threadid=44110

I will not lock the thread as there is some other usefull information in it which people are posting asides from where these stations are located.

Hope this helps,

Mike Nikolai
