| No sound from TV @nywhere card? - Click HERE for Original Thread |

I just installed an "MSI TV @nywhere Master" PCI TV-Tuner card and cannot get any sound from it when watching TV? I'm using an RCA cable hooked to my VCR (main cable device) as my input instead of using the cable coax, so would that be why?
I can watch TV, listen to the radio, and record video fine; there's just NO sound when watching TV?
Please help.
edit:
*Fixed it. Any sound card reccomendations?* Thank you. |

that looks to be the audio cable that plugs from your sound card to the tv tuner card
on a sound card should be labeled as aux in I believe
do you have speakers connected to the computer and can you get sound through them while watching on the computer monitor?
as well if you run the RCA audio in to the VCR you will need to run the RCA audio out to the TV or receiver |

Okay, I changed to the Cable coax, so no RCA's, and I'm getting sound and video for the TV-tuner... but now I have NO sound for everything else on my computer???
I recently disconnected the power to one of my old CD-roms that has never been able to read the discs. But now I'm thinking the audio somehow ran through that before being heard. Should I reconnect it and see? |

I gonna give that a try. My old cd drive is busted and won't even let the computer boot, so there's no point in trying to reconnect it.
Is there like somekind of adapter for the internal audio cable to make it into 2? |

| if your talking about splitting the internal audio cable I wouldn't recommend it |

Okay, I've tried connecting the internal audio cable to my cd drive and all I get is a buzzing noise from my speaker... but I'm still getting sound from the TV-Tuner card, so I don't know what's going on :dunno:???
FYI, I have NO sound card... just whatever the mother board came with when I got the computer. Should I get one? Any cheap suggestions? |

I fixed the sound issue. I just updated my drivers, and everything is working great!
As for a good sound card... any good suggestions? |

depending on teh motherboard in your system the onboard sound now adays is getting to be pretty good, if you still want to get a seperate sound card most people will go with one of the creative cards. I am using an audigy 2 zs, you can get one now for around 60-100 or if you feel like wasting money you can move ino the x-fi series which tends to be overkill for your average user
this one should suit your needs well and is 70
