E-Brake cable? - Click HERE for Original Thread

brownguy
Hey,

Is their any difference between a LHD and RHD mr2 ebrake cable? if so where could I find a RHD ebrake cable from?

Thanks

RWD
if its just the cable then it should be the same.

RDS Celica
ya its the same.

brownguy
ok cool,

Do you know how much it would cost to be done and where to get it done at?

Thanks

RDS Celica
which cable(s)? Ebrake handle to connector or connector to brake (left or right)...

brownguy
connecter to right brake I believe,
because when ebrake is up the left tire locks but the right side will still spin

RDS Celica
it will probably take about an hour so 80 bucks or so... Give me a call on monday and I might be able to get you in. 628-4617

ight cool,

is it just an adjustment that needs to be made or do I have to purchase a new cable?

If a new cable is needed where could I purchase one from?
also how much would the cable be?

Thanks

it might just be a matter of that cable being stuck... if thats the case then some lubrication and working it in will probably help the situation out a bit, but its still just a bandaid. The best thing would be getting a new cable, if not both cables, since they are probably streched out abit after 15 years anyways. The adjustment on them puts close to the same pressure on both sides so you can't tighten one independently of the other.

Toyota will have the cables. I can get you a price if you would like (it will be a bit cheaper).
