Is a B18C1 a good engine to swap into a 1992 Honda Civic? - Click HERE for Original Thread

is a B18C1, V-TEC a good engine to swap in a 1992

Ayeso
Yes, if its a cx or dx hatch it should run low 14's with a decent driver. Will take most stock or mildly modified cars without any mods.

McFly
buy a b18b and run boost:)

elrhyso
i'd say one of the best N/A honda engines? second probably to the H22A, so if it's cheap go for it, it'll haul ass and there is tonnes of aftermarket shit for it

RWD
fuckkk that b18c5 beats the c1 anyways and h22..

Uhh.. No offence to any prelude owners.. But H-series Motor's Suck balls..

And Yes a B18C1 is a fair choice motor to swap into a 1992 Civic. All you need is Some motor mounts, shift linkages, ecu/conversion harness, and some Misc. Other stuff...

PM: 'Jasonsir' If you are Not comfortable doing the swap on your own.. He will let you know everything you need.. and how long it will take...

Seriously.. stop talking out of your ass.. my friend has a h22a in his hatch.. and ran 13.7 with intake and exhaust.. and he went at it with a b18c5 hatch.. and the type r just doesn't have the torque to keep up. I'd run a b18a/b and just run a rediculous amount of boost on it.

Praylewd powr
I have to admit, the stock H series doesn't like boost like the B series does....but after a "proper" sleeve job, it is just as good. Compare torque for torque and the H will outperform the B series. But after seeing another boosted B18a......I would recommend doing rods and pistons/stock sleeves, and boost the hell out of that.....as previously stated.

Just that much more fun....and driveable.

yeah, i wasnt even thinkin that for a civic though :D and yeah i guess the C5 outdoes the C1 by about 30 HP... but either one is still a decent swap for the civic, and the C1 is probably cheaper. also.... i agree that its probably better to boost a regular nonvtec b series motor

element
id say its a real good choice

That's My point..

If you wanna make More power from an H-Series.. and you plan on new Pistions.. You nearly HAVE to Resleeve it...

And Plus.. I've seen all kinds of Preludes Smoking/Burning oil,.. Even New Ones.. 98+..

My point is.. .. I'm just Jealous of the bigger displacement.

But.. The King 'D-Series' Still Hump's out the Pony's.. :p

AKA.. D-Series For TeH WiNNiES!

I'm going to build a ls/vtec for my 94 gsr. We'll see how much hp AND tq it can push out.

It can be cheaper than just a b18c1 swap too!
