fugumerkur
if you fly , reply! simple!

dc2696
is it any good? what do u fly? heli's or planes?

Malaria
i use it all the time, its great if you got a yoke or a joy stick if you like flying its wicked :D

a great task to do when your shitfaced is to try and land a 737 and the edm muni, or a 747 at the international

fugumerkur
I fly planes and Heli's with a 256Mb vid card and a cool joystick , this game is shockingly real, I have downloaded scenery of edmonton and I can read the names of the businesses from the signs! i'll post a screenshot!

Stainless
I've got a Saitek X52, but sadly I rarely have time to sim nowadays. I'm a big heli nut, but also like flying the passenger jets. I used to be pretty big into Falcon 4 as well.

fugumerkur
Here is what I get to see in flight sim!

Malaria
that looks cool, where did u get that addon?

fugumerkur
from a flight sim forum/download site.!

fugumerkur

fugumerkur
www.flightsim.com if you go into the search libraries after you log in it has a massive download area where you can search by plane, scenery or tech add ons! 100 000' s to download!

fugumerkur
Malaria. give me a shout back on this thread I can get you the link for that scenery, it is two copy and paste actions and a quick set up in the scenery menu, and its useable, will note, with all those extra polygons, the scenery has its price, it will drop your frame rate like crazy!

but then again! flying down jasper ave upside down is pretty cool.!

fugumerkur

ha, scarin business men!

(i'll probably crash when I unpause the game)

95EagleAWD
All the time. Waiting patiently for Flight Sim X. Still, I think I've made FS9 look alright...

Flightsim is fun, but LOMAC and Silent Hunter III have nicer graphics/physics.

LOMAC

SH3

I love complex sims...

:D

fugumerkur
NIce games.! never heard of either and if I did, I am sure I would have gave up my combat flight sim! what the hell do you have for a vid card!!??

95EagleAWD
GeForce FX 5700.

Silent Hunter again:

FS9

fugumerkur
im liking your screenshots! I don't quite get them as clear as what you are.! might need to upgrade some more.!

if you ever want to fly online just let me know! nothing more relaxing than setting up the progressive and autopilot!
'

Malaria
95EagleAWD, what are your settings in FS9. i got a AIW 9800pro and i cant get quality like that to save my soul

Orzel_pl
I havent played since Flight Simulator 98, I think its time to get back into it, on account of things looking like not shit.

I played the "Train Simulator", and that shit was pimp, running a Bullet Train is the bomb.

95EagleAWD
Flight Sim X demo is out at Microsoft.com.

fugumerkur
I found the demo last night and downloaded it instantly! The graphics are impecable and the only problem with that, it kills the frame rate, Looks like I will be getting a 512 Mb card!

Malaria
i was dling the demo at 1.14mb/s  the demo is so wicked, but the games a resource hog 350mb of ram just for the game and my framerates never went above 20fps but still so much fun

fugumerkur
Yeah , I noticed the framerates are a real problem too, but either way, I will upgrade my power source and add another gig of ram and a 512 MB vid card for OCtober when it comes out!! the game is going to be crazy fun!

fugumerkur
I completed the Lear jet mission! 2 tries! got confused with the controls and went right off the end of the runway! 3nd try was bang on! smooth as butter! Time for the big jets!!!!! can't wait for this game to come out..

JeepGirl
i use a saitek X52 for BF2 (mucho overkill i know) but i would like to try out some other flight sim games that arent going to bore the crap out of me.

suggestions?

95EagleAWD
Suggestions for flight sim?

Combat:

LOMAC is amazing, but very, very CPU intensive.

Falcon 4.0 Allied Force is the best flightsim on the market, bar none. You'll have to read the 300 page Dash-1 F-16C manual to figure it out though. The game was originally packaged with the Dash-1 Manual from the United States Air Force for F-16C Block 50 ops. It's complicated, hard, and switch intensive, but it's fun when you master it.

If you're looking for a lighter load, Pacific Fighters is great. Good graphics, and good physics, but being a WW2 sim, it's not switch intensive like Falcon 4.0.

When I looked the game up, they sell two versions - Century of Flight and FSx. When I googled Microsoft Flight Simulator 9 the first hits I get are Century of Flight, and I just picked up the game so I hope I've got the same one as you guys.
