Tires slashed, Insurance? - Click HERE for Original Thread

180sxforthewin
Last night I went to a staff barbeque and when I left the house I found that two of my tires had been slashed. Right rear had 2 holes, front left had one hole. I didnt piss anyone off or anything like that so Im not sure why someone did this.
Do you think that insurance would cover this and if they do I imagine my premiums will go up. I can afford to buy new tires but I would rather not pay if I dont have to.

If I have to buy new tires which should I buy. Stock rims, all season. Nothing too special but not canadian tire either. (for my accord)

New tires would be cheaper than paying the $250 or $500 deductable

Hey theres is a way cheaper solution.

Report it to your local Police service as Vandalism, Guaranteed they won't do an investigation but tell them you want a file # so you can make claim with the Victim Services Unit. Most People don't know this but the Victim Services has a program to pay you for your damage even if there isn't anyone charged. Just make a report with the file number to Victim services and inquire about there Victims fund.

Most people don't know but there is a 15 % Victim Surcharge built in to every ticket or fine. That 15% goes into the Victims fund. Thanks to all you that speed and get Equipment Violations, We owe you.

Cheers:D

or you could be like the idiot from st. albert who was recently just convicted of insurance fraud at the provincial court on 3 st. anne street.

here's his story:
-idiot is following friend at 1:30AM on two lane highway (one for each direction)
-decided to play game of cat and mouse
-end up flying through ditch and hitting tree, causing extensive damage
-vehicle is still driveable
-convinces friend to follow him to remote location
-drives vehicle way out of town
-smashes vehicle up
-guts interior of all electronics and all valueables
-lights remains on fire
-reports vehicle stolen to police
-files claim with insurance company
-three weeks later gets cheque for $24,000
-few months later, friend rats idiot out to police
-many months later friend convicted of insurance fraud and fined $500...
