WookeysRX7

PraxRX7

Here is the picture I photochopped everthing from:

poweredBYhonda_girl
i think it looks good :P

PraxRX7
the rims are just way to big...

I do admit I need to get some rims...but rims come after new paint/body work

WookeysRX7
yeah thats a sweet Kit..... What do you think of the Bomex kit Trevor?

PraxRX7
BOMEX is good too, but I prefer to keep my FTP lenses.

SlowAzzPorsche911T
Trevor.. the kit on the black car.. how much does that run ?

PraxRX7
The kit is $3000 CDN

I am planning to take out a loan in January 2004 for the equivalent of what I cannot save up to $10,000 to cover all my body-work, but $10,000 is pretty easy to save up over 10 months as long as I don't buy anything else this year lol

This years plan (already in progress)
Took out $5000
Put it on the road: $1500 (darn brake system failure)
Hose Techniques Kit: $260
Full Intake: $100-500
Misc: $300
Amount left to play with: $2500, enough to start with some HP mods.

Next years plan:
Take out / save up $10,000
Kit: $3000
Paint-Job and body work: $5000
Left-overs: $2000 for some more engine work

Then 2005 is back to school for me and possibly selling the car to cover tuition (hopefully not).

JDC™
looks good, go for it B)

redbaron303
Bomex is boring, but GP Racing (the black one) god do Ilove that, I just hate the price... btw talk to Pat S from the club, he's got a good connection for that kit if you're REALLY interested :)

REFLUX
i was going to tell you to put your money in making your car RUN first
but it seems like you have that under way

all those kits look good to me, but i would put in some bigger HP before a kit

Zazam
Personally I like it   ... But the question is do you like it the money you've got to put out? :dunno:

Yea I would too except that I don't feel like dishing out $2500 for a RB Exhaust right now...

I am going to put on a full air intake this year, thats probably going to be about it...if money goes good I might get a custom 3" Exhaust and a S-AFC and a fuel pump....but for now my only plan this year is intake...

If it wasn't for my car "repairs" eating into my HP fund for this year, I would have gotten more HP this year.

I am not to concerned though, if I play my cards right I will probably pull the engine out for the body work/paint job and if I can do that I can do all sorts of fun mods to the engine/car.

Its better than the money I would put out for Stock Mazda parts...

The OEM Front nose for my car is over $1500, the Spoiler is over $1000 the side skirts run up about $1200.

So yea I am fairly happy with that price.

i'm not sure if that is the actual list of mods you would buy for a 3" exhaust....cuz it's lacking a few things

& it seems like you've done more research on kits than hp mods cuz $2500 is a "bit" more than what a full rb exhaust actually costs

also, if ur planning to do that custom 3" with SAFC & pump, that should only run you ~$1000 CDN, with the SAFC costing the most

PraxRX7
Well I have done plenty of research into HP mods....

Most of my research ends up on posts that start with "crap I blew my engine again!" lol

I don't quite remember the exact price of the RB exhaust...thier site is down right now anyways.

Oh and BTW this is the first real look into even considering a body-kit that I have ever done

Want a full list of wanted mods...check this out:

Fluidyne / Koyo Radiator (Fluidyne Part # FHP11-86RX7)
Upgraded Primary and Secondary Injectors (720cc P, 900cc S) rceng.com
Fuel Pump Upgrade - Walbro 255
Custom Intake and Box (K&N Cone Filter)
APEXi S-AFC
MSD Spark Plug Wires (mine are gettin old)
Optional Ignition system installation (MSD or Jacobs)
Full Racing Beat Turbo-Back Exhaust system (+gaskets)
Racing Beat FCD
Gauges Galore
BNR Turbo/Compressor Upgrade Stage 2/3
Ported/External Wastegate w/ Electronic Boost Controller
Turbo Timer (brand undecided)

Then at that point I will probably go for a Greddy FMIC and a nice Blitz BOV to top it off...

I am probably still missing stuff, but thats off the top of my head...

REFLUX
definitly sounds like a good list Trev!!!

i've heard good & bad experiences of the RB FCD, some ppl who have used it say it doesn't work
& also, have you considered the GReddy E-Manage over the SAFC?
it seems like a much more versatile piggy back (almost standalone)

PraxRX7
Well I was looking at the e-manage...but for the past 2 ˝ yrs owning my car I have always liked the APEXi S-AFC, and with the S-AFC 2 becoming available soon I almost have to go with it...

The only reason I would go with the e-manage is for the data-logging, but I haven't seen it in anyones 2nd gens yet.

The FCD works fine to relieve fuel cut, the large fear I have with it is that it stops the engine from retarding ignition properly under boost levels higher than 7 PSI. I have been re-assured by many people that it does not, however if the ECU isn't reading proper boost, I can't help but think that there isn't enough fuel getting into the engine.

I hope to remedy that with the S-AFC2.

We'll see, doing these things right is a pain in the ass :crying:

But I am sure both of us will end up with some sweet mods eventually!

I just wish I didn't have such a money spending problem and could actually save some money (although we save it to spend it right?)

import_3000
damn, nice colour matching, i gotta find my photoshop 7.0 cd

redbaron303
I tried to photoshop a diff. car but it didn't work out so well...
