Hey guys, I looked on here and Beyond.ca, didnt see a whole lot of 300ZX's for sale. I am looking for a TT 5 Speed, either JDM or USDM, doesnt matter. It has to be in good shape with lower mileage.
If anyone knows of any for sale, could you please let me know? Thanks
P.S. I did look on the autotrader, but there wasnt a whole lot on there either.

You can try the classifieds at the two Z Club's websites:
www.edmontonzcarclub.com
www.calgaryzclub.ca
Also, Rick at Aero Car Parts mentioned a red 92TT w/ 70,000km going for ~$24k-ish recently. I don't have the email here right now so I don't have the contact info. But if you phoned Aero Car parts you might be able to find out. |

That is scary... IF the car was clean & straight a person would be retarded for selling a 95TT for only ~$12-13k.
BTW, WTF is an "Ice Cold Air"? LOL. |

Ice Cold Air. hmmm.
Maybe he has put a ice tray infront of his Air Intake? I dunno.
Or maybe he is referring to the Air Conditioning System. It's not just air, but it's "ice cold" air.
Lol. |

Joel's Car is still for sale. It's a USDM and its in the states. This car is awesome. And he says that he has a $17k US reserve.

Doesn't come with the aftermarket wheels and I don't really care for them too much. The only other thing on this car that I don't care for is the front fascia. Other than that, it's a fantastic buy for a high hp Z32TT. |

Thanks for all the replies guys. I am looking at picking one up sometime this month.
There are some really nice USDM High HP cars for sale at good prices, but I think I want to spend a little less than that.
JDM cars seem to be the cheapest, but most of them are AUTO's.....WHY?? God, I dont know why people even bother shipping those over here.
Anyways, I have one more question. As soon as I pick up a 300ZX, I plan on driving it back home for a visit (back home is in New Brunswick)
What should I check before making a almost 5,000km trip with this car? Any help would be great. Thanks

No offence to anybody, but there is a reason why the JDM cars are the cheapest. They have suffered the wrath of "Tokyo Traffic." That means while they only have say 60,000 kms on them, they have idled pretty much the whole time. That can't be good for a car. Again, I am going to repeat myself. Ask yourself this, "why do they have low speed cruise control in newer cars in the Japanese market?" Why did many cars in Japan come with TV's in them? That's right. Plus, why do you think most of the JDMs coming in are auto. Would you want to be riding your clutch for 60,000 kms over 10 years?
Most of the JDMs that I have seen are in pretty rough shape (exterior and mechanically). You would end up putting the money you have saved to bring it into the condition of decent CDM or USDM car.
If you do buy a JDM, please check it out thoroughly before driving all the way to New Brunswick. Frankly, I wouldn't recommend it with any used car until you get more familiar with the it and sort out the gremlins if any. It wouldn't be fun being stuck mid-trip with a car that is acting up. Please also make sure you are getting a JDM from somebody reputable. Many of the JDMs that are brought over here are bought from auctions that are no better than what you would see here at a local auction.
However, with that being said, there are some (rare) JDMs that are in good shape - mostly because the person took the time to find the right one and potentially fix it up himself or herself. Best of luck, but buyer beware. |

Thanks for the input. I will consider all my options. I was wondering if anyone had more detail on what I should check for (regardless if its a JDM or UDSM 300ZX TT) Before I make a long distance trip?
Any help would be great. Thanks

Check just about everything you would before making a long distance trip with a car.
As for Z32 specific things, here is a FAQ on what to look for when purchasing a used Z32.
I would also review some of the technical FAQs on twinturbo.net and check everything out before going on the trip. If you can, at least try to get familiar with the car 1 month before going on a long trip. |
