COME ONE COME ALL TO THE GREATEST EVENT WE HAVE ALL YEAR!!!!!
The SVTOA Track Day has been the highlight of our organization for 5 years running. The event begins Friday evening at the hotel pub, where all racers meet for a night of auto related discussions over drinks and food. Early Saturday morning we cruise to the race track and open with classroom instructions and safety checks. Then to the tarmac for an entire day of racing and instruction.
Our proffessional photographers capture the event in both Audio and Video. The footage is used as SVT, SVTOA and Ford promotional material throughout the following year. Watch our 2005 On Track Video.
With a great ammount of help from Dan Beth from Stratotech, we have been able to cover the convertables with our new insurance policy. So we have our own insurance coverage this year. This also means any make of vehicle can attend our track day!
Drivers are grouped by expierence, ability and vehicle. Western Motorsport's certified instructors are on-hand to deliver the highest quality of instruction. They can either drive your car to demonstrate it's ability, or ride shotgun to help increase your technique.
Our regular entries include BMW's, Porche's, Subaru's, Nissan's, Cooper's and of course Ford and family. All makes and models are invited!
The new low price is $175 for current SVTOA members and $200 for non-members(includes renewal). There is no need to be an SVTOA International member for this event!! Anyone can join!
Features
- Solo I event! (multiple cars on the track at once, more speed, more fun)
- Western MotorSports professional instructors to assist new drivers
- Onsite BBQ & Refreshments
- SVTOA Photographers will be taking both video and photos of the action
- Both photographers have suction cup mounts this year!
- Show & Shine for your car even if you're not going to race

| i know it says Deadline: October 1st, 2006 strict enrollment deadline or until Max registrations (Only 25 cars), but has there been a 25 car limit yet, is there still room to sign up? |

Not enough people signed up. I received an email that it has been cancelled.
:(
If these types of events are not supported we can all forget about a dedicated track ever being built in this town.
Looks like everyone is content killing pylons or going in a straight line.
Sad. |

Thats what I was getting at. There are not enough people that can afford these type of events in this town.
My car is fast enough for me at the moment and realisticaly too much car for me. The point now is to find a facility that I can push the car. The novelty of driving to race city sooner or later has to wear off....
PCA is as close as it gets in Edmonton....... but it does not come close to working your car.
I enjoy builiding/learning about cars as well but there comes a point that you want to push the vehicle you have built. Killing pylons as fun as it can be...... its just not enough for me any more. I will continue to do it but I think trips down south are going to be the norm for anyone seeking a little more out of motorsports. |
