| I have a 1986 2 door hatchback Chrysler Laser(so not a ton to paint) and mainly due to it being 20 years old its starting to get weathered and some rust, mainly around wheel wells. So I was thinking of getting a full paint job for it, but I don't have very much money so I am looking to get as cheap a paint job as possible. I phoned maaco and they gave me a rough estimate of $1200 but I only have around $500 so I was wondering if it was possible to get a paint job that cheap. |

No. Unless you do it yourself. |

| You could probably convince someone to spray it in their booth, but for $500 you'll get just painting, no prep work /masking/etc... (Which is needed to make it last). |

| just the paint its self is a couple hundred to do the whole car. just repainting a panel or bumper uses $100 worth of paint. |

Just thought I chime in again, I own a miata and it has what I calle 7-tone paint. To get it repainted red is approx $4K, remember how "big" miatas are and the amount of paint it would take, so ya painting isn't cheap, unless u have a hookup. |

| When I was going to get my car painted the estimate for a decent job was 4000 dollars. If you only have 500 dollars expect a horrible job, hell you can always buy alot of spray paint. But good paint jobs cost insane amounts of money. |
