does anyone know where i can get a good deal on a alarm/starter installation for an mr2 cuz ive got 2 quotes already and one was $800 and the other was $400 and thats just the installation not including the starter/alarm so i was like WTF

Realisticly, you should expect to pay at least 500$ at a normal shop. If they are charging less, they are doing a crappy job. And yes 500$ just for the install.

I paid 550 for everything for a Compustar at EZ Motorsports. They did a terrific job, and John my installer even stayed into the wee hours of the morning for me to finish my install as much at once as possible.

And Im not talking out of my ass that he did a good job just b.c the unit works, I witnessed the entire installation from the passenger seat and everything was taped to look like one coil and so forth, he even fixed my interior light for me while he was at it.

hey... i just had a 2 way alarm starter combo installed on my 5 spd CRX at Triple S Performance on 99st and... 38ave? i think... but it was just under $500 for the unit and the install, it works great and it was done in half a day. i say give them a shout? :dunno: cuz i went to ziebart and those faggots quoted me $700, some other places like future shop wouldnt even touch a standard

Ravendarat
Futureshops policy on Standard transmission vehicles is they will not install a starter bought from somewhere else. On automatics it does not matter but the liability risk is too high on outside units. The problem with this is that we still do not carry a standard transimission alarm/starter combo. For what its worth Compustar combos, one way and two way will be hitting our shelves, probally by the end of the month. As for install pricing, basiclly what shawley posted is the same as us. Its a real piss off working for the company and knowing that installing into a standard isnt that big of a deal but still being bound by the red tape the company throws up, but what ya gonna do :dunno:

Id check out Certified Radio. They'll do a good install. It'll cost around 400-500$ but they do it right.
