question about ticket: license not present - Click HERE for Original Thread

kato74
Hey,

If you get pulled over and you did not have your license on you at the time you were operating the vehicle, I believe you have 24 hours to show the license. Do you get demerits regardless?

Thanks.

McFly
i dont believe there is any demerits for a ticket such as this.

And just call the prosecuter asap and try and get off.

you really do not have 24 hrs.

SilverNeonRacer
I believe it's up to the officier, they can give you 24 hours or they can give you a failure to produce ticket, Or they can be an ass and impound your car, until you produce.

kato74
would you get demerits for it though?

Vive le Quebec
Traffic Safety Act 167(1)(a):
Fail to produce drivers license.
$172
0 demerits

No demerits for this ticket. If the offence has any affect on your driving, then it generally has demerits...if it doesn't, then you can generally assume it doesn't.
