| Hey, I was wondering where you guys take your cars to get work done. Im looking for a shop that is reliable and is familiar with the 300's. If anyone knows any good shops let me know. Thanks! |

| Every body seems to suggest sumaru's to me. (I think that is how it's spelt) |

every shop has good point and bad points.
jason reccomended rob neese at erickson. and i was treated like absolute crap there. i will never go back.
I try to use AFI performance or Midtown. But both shops are absolutely swamped right now and its hard to get in.
personally the wait is worth it for me |

I have heard that some people have not had good service at Ericksen. However, I can definitely say I never had a problem with Ron. I can definitely vouch for him.
That being said, your experience is why I do most of the work myself. I don't trust too many shops with the Z32 and the labour rates on a Z32 are killer (especially the amount of hours it takes to get some tasks done). It helps that I make the time and have the interest to do all the work myself (or with the help of fellow club members - thanks to all of you). The only time I went in to Ericksen was to get a cooling system flush (too lazy to do it myself), get a stripped transmission plug pulled (I tried, but gave up before I damaged it further) and to get a wheel alignment (which I can't do myself - don't have the guages / tools required to do it). Didn't have a problem with anybody at Ericksen that time. |

The problem with Ericksen right now is all the management changeover that's been occuring over the last year or so. Its really a crapshoot what kind of customer service you're going to get day to day lately.
On a one-on-one basis Ron, and a handful of other guys, are usually awesome to deal with. But I honestly can't blame the mechanics if they're getting frustrated working on some of the RHD Z32s that have been coming in lately, given their condition, etc.
I will still maintain though that in terms of Z32-specific experience Ericksen Nissan is still the best place in the city to go.
A Z32 is not the kind of car you'd want to have "hack" jobs done on, or generic NAPA-type parts installed on.

Not to mention they are always swamped - last couple of times I called it was a 2-3 week wait.

I second both of those opinions/facts. However, I saw this White Z32 JDM at Future Shop South side on Monday that looked well taken care of on the outside at least. It was real nice. Too long for my liking though (2+2 TT). lol.

If you can even get generic/NAPA parts for it... About the only thing I ever went there for was exhaust gaskets and they actually had them at their main warehouse... Go figure? |

Ask Gord about the brake master cylinder and rebuilt steering rack that he tried to buy (for his 'vert) from Pepboys/Autozone or whatever the hell they have down in the states... both those items turned out disastrous and he ended up having to return them and got OEM from Coz. |

| Wow. They actually had generic parts... yuck. Don't think you can go too wrong for simple things like an exhaust gasket... and even if it is wrong, it's only a few bucks. Definitely wouldn't do big ticket items - go OEM for those. Most of those generic parts are for Domestics anyway. |
