FS: 1990 Nissan 300zx w/SR20 swap - Click HERE for Original Thread

Here's the story...I just got accepted to school and in order to put a down payment on a condo, I am forced to sell my rides.

This car was listed before, then I was going to keep this, as I have just recently finished a year and a half of continuous work on this car, but my loss can be your gain. Everything on this car is new. Here is a partial list.

Tien SS adjustable coilovers
KVR slotted rotors and pads
SR20DET swap w/T28 s14 turbo
SDS stand alone engine management
Walbro 255lph fuel pump
550cc injectors
z32 MAF
large FMIC
all intercooler and turbo piping
conical intake
custom 3" exhaust
18" TSW wheels
24540R18 Federal ss595 rubber (95%)
Wings West body kit
black leather seats
guages (tach, boost, oil press.)
new windshield
fresh paint job
boost controller

This is not a complete list, just what I can remember.

The car will also come with a new shift boot, newer steering wheel (in better shape), and also a carbon fiber dash kit. These aren't installed yet.

In total I have spent over $34,000 in the past 2 yrs, and so far I have driven about 500kms. I cannot stress how mint this car is, not to mention the looks it gets. I have it listed in the trader at $24,500, but I will accept ANY reasonable offer. This car MUST sell so I can buy a place to live, so make me ANY offer and help me stay off the street.

PICS

There is something wrong with this car. The steering wheel is on the left side!

Nice Z! Wish I wasn't so broke right now.

What was the purpose of swapping in a smaller and less powerful engine?

more km's per tank, more room to work on the engine, now room with the 300zx tt

Yah those reasons make sense, but you would think that the car would be underpowered considering that the sr20 creates less horsepower than even the N/A vq30. I suppose you would be saving weight as well though. Do you have any pictures of the engine bay?

englishjohn
i spoke to the guy today when i looked at his gt-r ya hes puttin mpre up

wes_4
The reasons we went with the SR20 are that it is lighter (several hundred pounds), and much easier to work on (ever try to change spark plugs?), with the way it sits now the weight distrubution is much more favorable than with the VG30. Also, right now the engine is set up to make over 300hp (albiet less torque), its is very different, and it revs to nearly 8 grand! With the susension and wheels, this car handles amazing. Granted I could have upgraded to a TT and then started adding power step by step, but this is much more shocking. Here are some pics of the engine bay.

I have heard of RB26's into Z's but not SR20's. I like it, very unique. Good luck with the sale, and im shure who ever the new owner may be, that they will be very happy.

i saw this car during the swap at samaru's. really clean looking swap. and the sr20 is an interesting choice, but it is proven. signal auto pulled the vq35 from their 350z and replaced it with a sr20.

Shady_Pro
did sumaru's do it?

wes_4
Thanks for all the great feedback and comments guys. Yes, the new owner (hopefully somebody soon- lol) will be very happy with this car.

The swap was done at Sumaru's Auto...it took awhile, but very accomodating and helpful people.
