I found this funny as hell, at the same time..quite disturbing. If you're dressed a certain way ie. Arab...You're treated like a terrorist....
The media conditions you so well, it's actually quite scarey. You might not even realized it...but this vid may bring it to light on how we are so conditioned to view people in a certain way... |

I don't get why it is the media's fault? :dunno:
People have been stereotyping for years, this is no different.
If a white american tourist looking guy went and bombed something major in the middle east, do you not think that the rest of the white american tourists would end up having to put up with some major discrimination just because they are a minority and look out of place? It is the same thing. It is unfortunate and unfair, but it happens.
I mentioned to you before that my father-in-law is in Iran right now. He has also worked in Pakistan and Turkmanistan in the past two years and while he enjoys traveling and working in different countries, he always says that besides the people that actually hired him, most of the locals show him little to no respect. Now how much do you want to bet that it is because he is a minority and dressed differently than the locals?
I still bet most places in Europe and North America are way more tollerant of minorities than countries in the middle east are. Again it is unfortunate, but that is how it is.
Anyway, I just don't think you can always blame the media for everything. CNN and Fox aren't that bad. :p |

Oh, you said the F-word. They are that bad. They slant to the right, and we all know that only left-slanting news sources are actually credible, and have no agenda at all.

On the topic of media reporting, try to check out "Enemy Image" , "a documentary examining the differences in war reporting in Iraq compared to coverage of the Vietnam War. Directed by Mark Daniels"
It's on Shaw Cable 15 CBC Newsnet or whatever it's called.
It's on right now from 8-10 and again from 11-1 am. |

Funny, but hardly proof of the Western media conspiracy being out to get the Arab/Muslims.
Do the same bit again, but stick a native beside a broke down car and see how long he has to wait for help on a busy highway. Then stick a decently dressed white person of the same age beside the same car and see how long he has to wait.
Any bets who gets helped first and more often?
Any bets that there is no Bush/western media conspiracy behind it? |

Excellent special...If Americans were able to view on national tv the war in Iraq as they saw it in vietnam, troops would likely have been pulled out a LONGGG time ago Imo! |
