I just saw it here in Atha, they're doing a show thing, he went to Boyle, Plamondon, Lac LaBiche, and Athabasca, it races tomorrow in Stoney Plain.
The guy showing the car knows Jimbo.
It's a stockish 1995 Highway patrol car, a crown vic, It spent a few years in Leduc, it was auctioned from leduc whenthey retired it, Wetaskiwin bought it, putmore Km on it, so it currently has over 400,000km on it.
All they did was remove the computer, light bars, other misc daily use police stuff. Still has normal street trim.
Performance wise, all they did was take the stock LS1(vette engine) put a hot cam kit in it, re-program the tranny, minor exhaust(flow master), stock manifolds, 4.11 solid rear end, and street legal drag radials(sized to give an effective rear end of 4.56 or 4.65)
He said it's putting down about 450hp,and should do 12sec in the quarter mile - It hasn't been raced yet. Tomorrow it's doing a 100ft shoot out downtown Stony plain.
Stock paint job too.. just has some big street legal decals on the rear windows.
Was kinda cool to see, sounds great too.. the funniest part was bout a block away from where the little show and tell was, is 1 of 2 sets of lights in Athabasca, 2 98style yellow mustangs started to give it ago, they whre 30-4yr olds in suits... once they saw the trailer witht he strobing blue and red lights, the couple cruisers.. they nailed on the brakes heheh |

Hey Folks;
Hate to toot my own horn, but ...
This is the program I started after my old boss decided not to turn the 70 Nova over. You'll notice that my avatar is the program's crest: YIELD - Youth Initiatives & Education in Lifestyles & Driving.
There's been a lot of great support from partners in & around the Stony Plain / Edmonton area which is just wonderful. Gord BUCK is the member that is now responsible for the program as I had to give up the presidency when I transferred to Bashaw.
Hope everyone enjoys the program. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask ... if I can't answer them I'll fire them away to Gord for you.
Jimbo:blue: |
