Gran turismo drifting? - Click HERE for Original Thread

fugumerkur
Hey anyone in here good at drifting in gran turismo 3-4?

just wonderin, im decent but linking them is hard, especially since all the turns are wide open, and you are doing 150km/h!

ford rs 200

mustang gt 350

Real drifting is done on the dirt with a ford escort

fugumerkur
ha!!!! I like rally's!

now if only I can find my vids of it.!

Wolfdio
but with all that work to put the freaky techno music in the backround kind of doesn't make it worth it, huh?

Hick 5.0 Ford
I'm pretty good at it. My room mate can set up pretty much any car the way I want it. I have noticed that the best drift cars in those games have around 300hp. Although he does have one he calls the black beauty, it's a 1000hp R34 that pretty much skates on the track.

I've got it down pretty good in GT3 but drifting in GT4 is absolutely retarded. The physics go to shit the instant the tail steps out.

B-Wurm :D

Wolfdio
Keep in mind youre usually going 200km/h when your tail steps out. Gt4 is loaded with graphics and slows the ps2's small processor to make it look like your going slower than you really are.

PraxGTI
I made a video drifting the entire complex string course...I will have to try to find it.

Nah, it has nothing to do with the sense of speed. But everything to do with the fact that when you're on the gas it's like you're on ice, but the second you let off the rear tires instantly regain traction. You can't modulate the throttle in that game without spinning out.

i thought i saw this linked here.... or somewhere on this page, but i guess i was wrong... or you all missed it?

GT4 Drifting on Streetfire.net

HERE is a good one from GT3, as well
oh, and THIS one too... (intial D music is nice touch :p)

I have been gettin pretty good at it lately, Rippin around the Motorland track (small tight turns and small straightaway's more suitable for drifting than the large open tracks) and I am linking 4 turns now.! its gettin crazy!

I totally reccomend this track and will post video once I get a little better, you guys try drifting this course and link at least 4 turns with one slide!

my car is a Ford Mustang SVT cobra R 2000 with normal tires and 389 horsepower, i believe it is undertuned...

Give it a try on MOTORLAND!!!

Its the blitz Ir34. It is Ken Nomuras car. You can see it on the d1 videos or video option.

fugumerkur
that car is so much fun to drive (simulated obviously) it slides perfectly everytime

Forza drifting ftw

eeebowlahhh

i find the s2000 with about 300hp is pretty decent, i generally drive on the nuremburgring(sp?) course cuz it has some pretty tight corners, but with a decent set up on the s2000 and sports soft tires u can get alot of grip when u need it but then lose it easily when u want to

fugumerkur
yeah the s2000's are alot of fun to drive, I feel the best courses to drift on are small city courses, and the autumn ring mini. its small you can turn alot of laps and sharp turns.
