Here are some spy photos of the Evo 10 being released in 2008. I have been told by an inside guy at Mitsu that they will bringing the Evo to Canada next fall!! About time!!

impact
clutchless 6speed..

PlungerOfDeath
How dependable is this "inside guy"?

Driven
Pretty sure the Evo X was annouced somewhere to be coming to canada.

This quote was taken from the article... and so god help us...

The new Evo X will share a platform with the new Dodge Caliber, Mitsubishi's Outlander and Chrysler's next-generation PT Cruiser

What we need, is another boosted 2 door car.

Moo ha ha. That is all.

Better not be a torque-converter system, but a true electro-hydraulic semi-auto.

Yeah, the GTR and EVO have been coming to Canada since their conception according to "inside guys". I wouldn't hold your breath.

Altezza
wonder what the price tag will be on the Evo X

Well the inside guy is good friends with a dealer principle....so the info is good. Price is $35-38K tentative.

MM99lude
The EVO X is definitely gonna be here.

Buddy of mine already has a down payment on one of the first 10 coming in.

Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn has said many times that the new GTR will be coming here, little more then an inside guy.

Hard time believing the car will cost the same as the Eclipse. Thats a good 10K cheaper then its rival the STi. I think the EVO will be inline with the STi interms of price.

SilverZ24
Price must be US if it is accurate.

Yup, the Canadian price should be around ~50K

So what are you talking about?

o2thag
That evo in the pic is just a Test mule. That's not how the evo 10 will look. The best is to check out concept X pics or the spy photos of the upcoming lancer to get an idea of what the car will look like.

No.

The new GT-R shares nothing in common with the base model Skylines this time around and doesn't include the name Skyline in it.

Wask: The Infinity G35 is nothing more than a rebadged Nissan Skyline.

Inzane
Now Canada's Top 10 Douchbag Car list will be complete.
"Excellent!" Mr. Burns.

But you can tell people you drive a Skyline  if you think that makes you cooler.

I would say in the 42-44 range. Exchange is not that high anymore.

And how many cars sold in Canada are priced according to the US-Canada exchange rate???? That is right, not a single one. It most likely will be about 50.

For the EVO, right?

The GTR will be 90-100K.

SilverZ24
Yeah, Evo. I agree with you about the GTR.

50K for an evo....your nuts. It's still an EVO. They would never sell for 50K.

MM99lude
Yes it will. The STI sells for around the same price, and the two cars are in direct competition. Plus its going to be a new attraction to the Canadian market, people will snag them up just to be unique!

Cool.. where can I sign up so I can be the first to own a $50,000 econobox that happens to come turbocharged with AWD?

:D

MM99lude
I'm taking down payments right now, $5000 up front and i'll contact you in 2 years for the other $45 000 :D

Actually if i remmeber correctly i thought they annouced that the evo x was gonna be a supercharged v6?

Either way, I agree that the $50 000 could be spent on a better car, but the fact that it is new to this country is going to draw a bit of attention. Especially by loyal DSM'ers.

By your logic the STi doesn't/will never sell. Reality says you are wrong.

Evo can't be a 6. Rally homoligation (spelling??) rules say a 2.0 litre 4 banger, so that's what it is.

DSMers probably aren't gonna give a shit about the Evo X considering it's been said that engine will be all new and not an Evolution of the 4G63.

Ya sorry you are right, just checked it out, said that the UK version will be a turbocharged 4-banger pushing out 280bhp and usdm and cdm may be tuned to put out close to 350bhp.

And how many do you see on the roads?? The only reason the STI's are selling is because of the economy. If this was in the early to mid 90's they would be sitting in showrooms like the 300zx TT's did. Some sat for a over 2 years without being sold.
The STI's are not 50K cars and neither is the Evo. The only reason they will sell is like I said....because people have money to blow right now. See the economy nose dive and watch them sit.

I see lots of STi's on the roads and coming through the shop.
50,000 is a steal for the technology in either the STi or the EVO, cost of goods goes up so does final price. They are priced well according to the rest of the market as far as bang for the buck and they make great safe family cars that can put a hurting on cars twice their price in almost every performance catagory. I just personally wish they were more appealing to the eye.
Put it this way, $50 K CAD for an STi or EVO as opposed to an estimated $80-90 K CAD for the long awaited GTR. Dollar for dollar I bet the EVO and the STi punish the new GTR.

The STI's must be a great value for the dollar......that's why there are 37 currently for sale in the CanadaTrader.

As opposed to how many of each and every other type of car?
Canada Trader runs alot of dealer ads as well, keep that in mind.

You can't rev an Evo to 8 grand and drop it. The ECU doesn't let it rev above 5500-ish with the clutch pushed in.
