| Just wondering how it would work buying a retardedly modded car and getting it to pass OOP inspection and what not. Im talking like everything from top to bottom on the car was modified including a 150 shot of wet nitrous hah. suspension everything.. even if you brought it over just for summer fun car how can you make it legal? |

| im asking more in general. i just saw a 500whp 4th gen prelude for sale in the states for pretty cheap about 15 grand. it has everything a stock lude has really minus the recaro seats. but all the 92 ludes had were just an airbag in the steering wheel but i think that has been changed out..but the suspension has been completely modified. |

Suspension shouldn't matter, so long as it can be aligned. The airbag might be a problem though. |

Ya i saw that car up for sale on VPC. It is a super nice looking car! But im sure they would hassel you about something once you brough it over. And it would probably be hard to insure consider the extreme amount of modification. Not to mention that a 500whp car you can expect to watch the gas gauge go down as fast as the km/h go up.
Oh and if the suspension is adjustable then you wont have any problems. If it is slammed and you can't raise it, they would make you replace the suspension prior to passing opp. |

| ya it depends on who you are with. Some company's refuse to insure any modified vehicles. Others will, but you need to present them with a list of parts, in the case of an accident or theft. |

| i wouldnt be worried about insurance i would be more worried about just getting it on CAD soil legally. gas isnt an issue you dont buy fast cars to save on gas thats what daily drivers are for. it made almost 500whp on a MUSTANG dyno and still had room for more PSI it was running 92 Octane at the time i believe that thing is a monster hah |

| I just had my srt4 passed at the OOP inspection. All they do is check the alignment, break pads, tires, ball joints and stuff like that. They DO not check the airbags but the car has to have daytime running lights and your cars has to be on the list that canada customs has for LEGAL imports. |

well there shouldn't really be a difference between a USDM 4th gen and a Canadian one aside from the gauge cluster. Like posted above, I think the airbag will pose the biggest problem.
You can always ask the current owner if he still has some stock parts just in case you need to swap something in/out temporarily.
And of course you can get the proper documentation and bring it across the boarder (with your "in transit" paper work), and then source the parts you might need here in order to pass OPP.
Either way if that car is in perfect mechanical condition it would be an awesome pick up! |
