I haven't posted here before.
I have a 2000 MR2 Spyder, I live in calgary but am going to be up in Edmonton on Sept 9 for a ASA event. In the evening I'm going to be meeting up with a 2003 Celica GT (1zzfe) with C2 turbo kit on it, I want to check out this car.
Anyways, I thought I'd put an invite out there if any other toyota's, mr2's, celicas, etc want to show up and check out some cars and show off their rides. This is just going to be a mini-meet sort of thing. |

Wrong thread...MOVED.
But he stripped the car down, and rebuilt it, and registered it as a kit car, or something else. I am not quite sure, but I believe it is not registered as a MRS.
He has modded the shit out of it.
If this is the same one, I am thinking about.;) |

This is that car, it's got a goverment VIN and is registered and insured as a "home built" car, which is different then a kit car. Kit cars have different regulations around them and it's only legaly to import/register a kit are that is manufatured and produced in canada (in whole or in parts). bla bla bla bla bla
Anyhow, your all welcome to come out, I'll post a time and place a day or two before the 9th.

Didn't know there was a mr2 event going on in Calgary. I don't visit the beyond mr2 forum, I don't find the people there friendly so I don't read/participate on the forum, it's been months since I posted anything on the beyond mr2 forum.
I'm hopeing the 780tuners mr2 forum will be friendlier, and from the few posts I've browsed it seems to be. |

I grew up in edmonton, so I know it well. All my family still lives up there, and I'm usually up there every week or two on buisness or seeing family/friends/racing. I just never take up the mr2 spyder to edmonton unless I'm racing it. I like calgary a lot, I just didn't like the way the calgary mr2 board/group act/treat each other online. They all might be great people in person, but the initial way I was treated online by them totally turned me off the group and I no longer visit their forum. Maybe in the future I'll start participating on their forum.
The meet will be in the evening (probably something around 6:00pm) of sat sept 9th will be the meet. I'm attending the ASA solo 2 event at namao on sept 9th (going to go beat the hell out of the spyder for the afternoon), I have to see when that ends to figure out when exactly I can show up.
Rob will also be showing up with his 2001 celica gt with a c2 turbo on it. I know not many of you will/would consider this a fast car, but it dyno'ed 197 hp to the wheels and the car weights 2400 lbs. By compairason a stock 1991 mr2 turbo dyno's around 165 hp to the wheels and weights 2880 lbs. So he'll be 480 lbs lighter and have another 30 wheel hp then a stock mr2 turbo. It should be a quick car. |

I think 2 many attitudes clashed in that one thread. The meet was great though and the guys that came were all super nice. Guess youll have to come to the next one in Sept so you can see for yourself. :) |

a few people couldn't make it tomorrow so the meet is prosponed, probably to sept 23rd.
I'm still going to be up there tomorrow but I have no plans for a meet. So if you see the orange spyder around that's me or someone who stole the car. |

sorry i took off after writing my last post on here for edmonton so I didn't see any of the replies.
As long as the ASA event happens on the 23 (and is dry) I'll be back up on the 23rd and possibly a meet then.
