Do speed chips really work? - Click HERE for Original Thread

browntown
Ive been looking at these chips for a while and I always wondered if they work or is it just a gimmick. They guarantee them to increase your cars HP by around 20HP but what is your guys' opinion

Here is a couple on ebay...

Don't waste your money. What kind of car do you have?

For one they were both removed.

2: Turbo if you want real power. Sure its not 20 dollar ebay chip cheap, but it can still be pretty decent.

I wouldn't waste your money. If you do your intake and exaust you'll see the best gains from a real chip. So some searching on 240 forums and see what other guys are running. If you're running a turbo there might be a chip that properly maps out your fuel if you decide to turn the boost up.

dont waste money on ebay chips, and i dont know how chips work for japanese cars, but for european its one of the better first mods

Generally those ebay "Chips" are actually a reistor that gets put inline in the vehicle to trick the computer. They are a complete waste of money as they are generally a .08 cent resistor. If you want to chip your car, get a real chip.

of course they work
ive heard that sometimes they also come with a time travel mod
just dont forget to put in the crystals
