Windows updates not working - Click HERE for Original Thread

(Windows XP)

My computer recently crashed and I had to use the Windows recovery disc to get it back up and running. And when Windows tried Automatically Updating, the computer would reboot (like normal), but when Windows tried to open it would reboot again and stop just after the BIOS screen.

So I had to launch in Safe Mode and do a system restore to before Windows was updated. Then disable Automatic Updates by going into Control Panel -> Admin Tools -> Services.

So, any ideas of what the problem could be? (The rest of my computer is running great)

Windows updates is really unreliable. I can't remember how to get around it... just download SP2 and be done with it haha.

I used to have SP2 (before the crash). Thanks, I'll google and download it.

SP2 is installed. Updates problem is fixed. But now my internet won't work because of some "NetBT" thing. If anyone knows how to fix that, it's much appreciated.

I'm still running SP1 because if I install SP2 I can't get on the internet. Anyone know how to fix that?

Thanks.
