| ok guys i know a fair bit, more than average about rx-7's amd the rotary motor. But the thing that i never heard talk about in detail was the difference between the 13b and the 13b-REW. i have never known what "rew" even stands for. I know the "rew" can be fitted with a twin turbo and i THINK the rotors a different, r they? But really guys fill me in.:dunno: ;) |

the rotors in a 13b-rew are 8.5:1 compression and this engine only came in the fd3s.
There are alot of 13b's but i assume you want to know the differences from the 13bt found in the fc3s.
it had 9.0:1 compression in the turbo model(9.4 and 9.7 in the 13b na fc3s motor).
All three rotors are interchangeable within themselves but all have different weights.
this is a good read but does not get to in depth with the specifics.

Rotors in the rew are 9:1 , not 8.5:1. The rew means twin sequ. turbo charger, w is a close to double as the Japanese tongue can get. there is cosmo rew and Fd3s rew
13b compression rations are 8.3(non autotmotive and mazda race),8.5:1(s4 Fc3s),9:1(fc3s s5, fd3s,cosmo), 9.4:1(gsle and s4 fc but different weights),9.7(fc3s s5), 10:1(rx8) .
Mazda notes a geomerical shape change of the rotor and housing between pre 85 and 86 and up engines and should not be mixed.
Each engine has a little edge over its predeccesor and design changes to enhance performance and longetivity, the bearing clearances and oil got better with each generation. |

How much you want to bet on that one?...:).. althought that what it says on the intake , mazda still designates it as rew because of turbocharger layout, like the 20b is designated 20b-rew |
