I just rebuilt my engine, and I was looking for a place close by that could tune decent and had a dyno. I figured Id give Blaine a shot at it. I knew he was good with dsm and alright with
hondas. I've nev er dealt with him before But I definatly will again.
I brought the car in for engine break in, and tuning. The tuning was a pain in the ass for fuel maps, But Mark and Blaine took there time with it and did an awesome job. There Hondata romulator wasnt working so we couldnt tune in real time, but they did it the old fashioned way. My car was there a few days, and they knew i was getting anxious to take it out of the shop so Thursday I got there at 5:00 to hopefully finish it off. I asked if we could stay until it was finished and they both agreed to stay. We didnt get my car off the dyno until 1:00am But they stayed even thought they had to open the next morning.
My Prelude is running great now thanks to Blaine and Mark. Both these guys know there shit with honda's. They exceeded my expectations by a mile. They are both super easy to deal with.
Subracing is probably the only shop in edmonton i'll take my lude to for any engine work. They both take extra care of the cars, making sure everything is done right, like its there own.
Overall I had a great experience with them, and pricing was good too. Cheaper than expected...especially for all the work they put into my car. Thanks guys  |

| Thanks for your patience during our computer hardware difficulties. Can't wait to have it back after the engine has some miles on it so we can degree in the cams and hit it with the spray. |

All you need is around 50km and it is good to go. I thought I read "engine break in" and "dyno tuning" in the post. Why wait for a second expensive session?
After a few different builds, the best break in method I have found was the popular "moto tune" method.
Can't wait to see some numbers with spray.

'Moto Tune' break-in method
It is almost exactly the same break-in procedure we've used for all of our own shop cars and the results have been excellent. FI alters the formula somewhat but it's the same basic idea. Of course, it depends on what your trying to achieve with your engine, there is no 'one size fits all' formula :). |

| Yeah it was engine break in and tuning. I had a leak in the nitrous system, so I have to take of the intake manifold to fix it. We could have tuned the cams but it was already 1:00am and I had to get the car back for friday to go to the body shop. |

Fair enough Mike, I just wanted to put in my 2 cents about the break in methods out there. I am glad to see that subracing went with that method (or similar). Earl Laskey told me how to do mine and I went with that versus what a previous engine builder said.....sure enough, the engine runs strong, no oil consumption at all, and compression has slowly gone up a touch after 2000km.
Now hurry up and get the power numbers out of it!
