Ok, we've all been newbies, and we can all tell newbies get excited over basically nothing. Newbies are well, NEW to anything.
You know, they're out to try something because they heard it would be fun. Which, there is nothing wrong with (in theory). The only problem I have is, every FNG turns into an overnight expert/pumper.
They'll tell all their friends, family, realtives, blah blah, I did this, I did that, I did it with a wiffle ball bat (oops). They somehow think THEY invented the fucking event. And they use the word, 'blast' to describe it. 'It was a blast!' (Which 100% of the time in the history of man means, 'I had to say that because I had nothing else to say.')
Also, remember, if you're telling your story as a newb, try not to forget who you're telling the story to. Maybe the person who is listening is actually an expert and laughing his ass off inside. |
