battery charging problems - Click HERE for Original Thread

Fish_e_o
to start here are the things that have been tested and are new..

Battery brand new tested
alt. brand new tested
alt. belt brand new not slipping
there is continuity between the negitive terminal and the alt screw
there are no shorts (no continuity between pos and neg. terminals)
battery wires are original but very clean w/dielectric grease to keep clean
i have no battery temp sensor but does that matter

took it to canadian tire and the said my pcm might be over charging my battery but i only see 11.8 running voltage on my afc so thats bs...

it might be under charging perhaps???

so why is my battery dying on me thoughts... suggestions...

get a new car will not be accepted as a sugestion no matter how practical it may be
my car is cursed but i love it... it's kind of like a sick stray dog

Might sound elementary, but have you checked the fusible links/fuses?

Where is the voltage regulator on this contraption?

EIther in the alternator (brushes worn, broken) or a separate unit.

How is this thing running by the way. Are the bugs ironed out?

If your only getting 11.8 volts when the car is running, your not charging the batery at all. You should see a minimum 14 volts at the battery when the car is running. 2 volt over charge as you vehicle electrnics all require 12 volts. It your regulator all the way. No need to look any further.

Cheers
