Sherwood Nissan, Edmonton area's newest Nissan dealership, is pulling out the red carpet for the Edmonton Z Car Club and Z-Car and Nissan/Datsun/Infiniti enthusiasts everywhere.
We are having a show n' shine!! So get your car shined up, grab your lawn chairs, sun block and your cameras.
This time there's no sponsors, no entry fees, and no trophies or judging. This is purely a fun social gathering. Come on out to meet the club, meet the dealership staff, meet fellow enthusiasts like yourself.
There will be a radio station coverage present. And a BBQ fundraiser serving lunch.
Date: Saturday, Sept. 16th
Time: Noon to 4pm
Place: Sherwood Nissan
Main parking lot, west side of the building.
Lets break some records and get lots of cars out there!

It's because the show and shine is the same day. The dealership has been great in allowing us to use their facility for our meetings. The least we could do is return the favour and this day worked the best for them. |

But we had this date arranged with Sherwood Nissan well BEFORE the SCC date was announced on 780. And we gotta go with what works best for the dealership, as they are hosting us.
One can hope that dates are announced with more prior notice next year. |

| well I know two EZCC members are going to be at SCC, My self and a Turbo 350Z...I'm sure there will be more Z's out there not from our club but there will be a few out there. |

I forgot to mention that EZCC members that don't attend the show n' shine will be subject to a public flogging at next month's meeting.
Better show up tonight Edwin if you wish to plead your case in advance. :p
PS - if you're intent on going (to SCC), are you at least gonna be a man and sign up for the drag racing? |

LOL:lol: If my parts come in for the Z then I may...But I don't think so, I don't want to look super stupid infront a million people...so if I wait before SCC or After I'll only look stupid infront of thousands.:p when does the Show and shine start and end?

Weather Outlook for Saturday isn't so good.
It's only going to be +6 on Thursday and Friday with Rain... Of course, this could change by the time the weekend get's closer...
Is this an all-weather event (including snow - it's almost getting cold enough)? |

Don't cash in your chips yet Mash. Remember what happened for our June show n' shine. Pouring rain friday night and the forecast still looked doom and gloom around bedtime. But come saturday morning, it was like the miracle prayers were answered overnight and we ended up having just the weather we needed.

Yes of course. The show is open to all Z and Nisan/Infiniti/Datsun enthusiasts. Entry is FREE too.

And for the latest weather update from environment Canada... Saturday, periods of rain. High of 6 deg. C, Low of 1 deg. C.
Call me a pessimist... But hey, if it pours, chances are SCC will be cancelled, which means more people should come out to the show & shine. Rather, the show off how well the water beads off your wax!

I just spoke to Marty 10-15 minutes ago. He was of the opinion that Environment Canada's forecast is way behind and the CTV (I think?) news report he saw on TV this morning was much more positive looking. |

Interesting. I usually find Environment Canada to be most accurate.
However, the disparity between all sources is interesting:
1. Environment Canda - Rain or Snow - High +1.
2. Weather Network / Edmonton Journal / Global - 70% POP, Cloudy with Showers - High +7.
3. CTV - Cloudy - High +7
Still, outlook is pretty cool.
I assume everything is still a go. However, if it's cold / pouring rain / snowing, I assume it's not a go? Is this safe to assume? |

well the problem is:
- our email distribution guy is still on vacation
- the call-outs (phone list) already occured earlier this week
- our monthly meeting was last week.
Its kinda late to change the date now, not to mention it would depend on the dealership as well.
The plus side is those members that were previously conflicted with the double-booking with SCC can now go to BOTH.
Even if the weather's bad, we can move things inside the building and we're still going to have the BBQ, etc. And I asked Marty to check with the dealership if they could do some kind of tech demonstration in the service area for us, if possible. |

Anyway, the dealership is still going ahead with their Nissan Canada promotion, with the radio station and fund-raising BBQ (Girl Guides), as Gord mentioned in the email.
So a few of us may still stop by for a burger in the afternoon. |
