Let's play a little game guys, it's called:
[Game show host voice]What's messed up with Edwin's car now! [/Game show host voice]
ok here's the clue: When the car is at full throttle, the car makes a slurping/hissing nosie coming from the front of the car(I think). Could this be some kind of leak?
Thanks for playing! |

Dunno about your noise, but at WOT the slurping noise I hear is my gas tank draining. :p
When are you getting your POP charger? When it's install time, also time to check for some boost leaks as well. Could be the source of some of the noises. It's not the 'goose honk' is it?

 maybe...here's the thing and maybe it well help with the noise issue i'm having...the car won't start on it's own anymore, it needs to be push started and then it fires right up...I'm still getting full power to everything on the inside..when I press the window button the lights and such dim out... could it just need a new battery (even if the things that use power still work) maybe that noise I'm hearing is coming from the alternator? |

Hey, do a voltage drop test on your battery with a volt meter to determine if its the alternator or just a dying battery.
I had this problem when I first got my Z (clicking sound upon start up) and it turned out to be a bad battery. Not sure if you have a new battery or an old one.
As for you other problem, I'd do a boost leak test as the others had pointed out. I'd also test your injectors and possibly replace your Coolant temp sensor since you threw the code when we checked on Thurs night.
James. |

Well I think it is the battery because if it was the alternator the car would have used up all of the battery and the car would have not started? so I'm guessing it the battery, and as for the sound I have determined it's a boost leak...the stock boost gagw won't got to 7 anymore just the line before it.
So I may have the problem fixed...once I get over to Rob's house on Thursday. Where can I get an optima battery?
Also I need to replace the coolant temp sensor like you mentioned James.:) |

Costco, 153.00 or thereabouts for a Red Top. Had a warranty replacement done a few months ago as my old one wouldn't charge up . Found a bunch in the car battery section, hope theyr'e still there.

There are LOTS of places that sell Optima batteries:
Costco
Wal-Mart
Partsource
Interstate (the battery outlet)
Just a few off the top of my head. Costco is probably the cheapest. |

Costco - haven't checked yet.
Wal-Mart - $200 <----- WTF?
Partsource - They don't carry OPTIMA at all anymore.
Interstate (the battery outlet) <----- haven't checked yet. |

For a RED Top? Yellows, yes. But the Red should be closer to ~$120-150ish I thought. |

costco has them, but i forgot to look at the price  .
my bud has replaced his optima battery like 3 times in 3 years all on warranty bought from crappy tire. Now "vorpalz" had a failure also?
Are you SURE you still want an Optima battery? |

| It's probably your starter. My starter clicking like mad when it was dying. Just boost your car battery and if it starts then it's your battery, if it still clicks then your starter is f'ed :) |

I'm on my second Red Top, but my first one lasted FIVE years with lots of abuse (deep discharges), so I can't complain. |
