Guy sold it because he blew the motor, and he's not sure whats wrong with it...
Gunna take a look at it and see what it needs.
Plan on putting a B18 in it with a B16 tranny...
So if anyone has a used B18 for sale... PM me.
Also looking for front left and right fenders if you have them in red.
Also looking for a cheap deck.

I was driving my 91 DX one day... pulled into tim horton's, i walk in and this guy approaches me "You plan on doing anythign to your car or just keeping it stock?"
I told him i had plans, but not much cash flow.
So he tells me about a civic he is selling for parts, because the motor is blown. I went and checked it out and decided i like it and wanna keep it.
And thats how i found it...
Now here's the confusing part... (LONG READ)

I call the guy up again and ask him whats wrong with it and why did he stop driving it? he says "i was driving one day and saw black smoke coming from under the hood, i pulled over and got it towed home... figured i blew the motor, thought it was time for a new car anyway so i didnt care just thought id sell it to someone who wants to go through the hassle"
So he says... "if it runs, you basically stole that car from me for $500."
So... any idea's as to why there would be smoke coming from under the hood? Seemed fine when i was revving it... didnt bother to take it out of the driveway though.

Naw think im gunna keep the rims for a bit... my first pair of rims ive ever owned!!! aha, my first 2 cars had steelies.
You have the model number of the $75 deck?
The car needs a wash so bad... there is dirt EVERYWHERE.
Probably about 10lbs worth of grass inside the car alone aha. |

Hmmm...
Let the car rev for about a minute, shut it off then i heard what sounded like coolant boiling in the reservoir...
Could that be just because its really low? Or it could possibly be the header?
Was getting dark, just shut the hood and left it for now... |

sounds like you have a bad headgasket. The bubbling sounds from the coolant res is because the gasket is gone between the 2 and 3 cylinder . Everytime the piston comes up on either cylinder it pushes air into the coolant therefor blowing it into the res. Another way to check for this isto let it run for a couple of minutes and then check the top rad hose,if it is extremely hard then there is air in the system. I have had this happen to me twice,it is pretty common with 3rd gen civics(CX,DX and Si). |

Nope no rust :D
He hit a deer with it though, and replaced the hood with one from a wrecker, has a couple scratches on it.
You cant really tell from this picture, but the hood doesnt close properly. And theres a chip in the paint on the front left fender. The little red peice between the hood and the bumper is a little bent, ill get a bigger picture soon.

I dont have the money to get a hsopto do the swap for me...
Only thing ive evr swapped myself is a D15 for another D15...
Was thinking of doing a ZC or B18 since they should just drop right in. |

| I have a couple of motors i am selling, the one b16 listed here on 780, a single cam ZC sitting in my garage, the ZC needs a headgasket, but it has a rebuilt head with under 3000 kms. I would part with the ZC fo 350 bux. Let me know if you are interested. |
