The first question back at you is WHY? You have to understand why something is done before you do anything. If you don't already know the pros and cons (of removing HICAS), why are you even considering it? :dunno:

There are a couple people who have removed their hicas in town, (that I know of, there might be more). One is James_Z32 on this forum and in our club. I'm not exactly sure why he deleted HICAS, other than he's been replacing a lot of stuff in his suspension anyway, and it might fall into the philosophy of simplying as much as practical on the car (which is valid). The other person is a racing/driving instructor who has his car set up specifically for track.

I am considering it at well, which might make me the third.

The pros:
- weight reduction
- cleans up the engine bay (IF you go ALL the way and swap the PS reservoir & pump as well so you can delete the actuator and extra lines as well. Also assumes the 90-93 hydraulic system not the 94+ electronic version)
- more direct feel/handling in the rear end. Arguably better ability to countersteer/correct when in an oversteer situation.

The cons:
- money. some delete kits are more pricey than others but it still might be money you don't necessarily need to spend.
- you may miss the feel you get from HICAS during highspeed lane changes, or the "assist" it gives you in a slalom scenario.

For the most part, in Z32 land, unless you're the kind of person that just had to add every mod that exists on to your car just for the sake of buying parts, the main group that does delete their HICAS are the ones that are serious about track events (roadcourse, and to a lesser extent autox). The better a driver you become, the more likely you will want to remove HICAS - because you will start to dislike what it does to your dynamic control as you understand more about how your vehicle is handling.

For the novice driver, or the pure street car, I see no immediate benefit in deleting HICAS.
