1989 Pontiac Turbo Firefly - Click HERE for Original Thread

HiTempguy
This is the car I have been slowly working on for the past two years, a very mint 1989 Pontiac Firefly Turbo. I have been
building it on a limited students budget to compete in the F/Super Stock class for auto-x. I also like to take it to the dragstrip once
or twice a year to see how the power/traction of the car is doing ;) Timeslips will be posted this weekend (SCC Edmonton),
personal best of 17.1s 1/4 mile last year running lean. More pictures to come of all modifications done. List of mods as follows:

Engine-
2" downpipe back exhaust system (no cat, only a resonator)
10psi of boost (normally run 12psi, waiting on boost controller)
8.5mm Aurora spark plug wires
K&N drop in filter
adjustable cam gear
OCC Racing underdrive pulley
ported exhaust manifold

Suspension/Braking-
BMR Front and Rear strut bars
18mm rear swaybar (stock is 14mm)
custom built KYB GR2/Honda CRX Skunkworks coilovers
cross drilled and slotted front and rear rotors w/ceramic pads

Rims/Tires-
195/45R15 Toyo PROXES T1-R's on ASA 15" rims

Interior/Stereo-
Sony Xplode Deck
4" Kenwood co-axial front speakers/ 5 1/4" co-axial rear speakers
10" Kicker Comp Sub w/Bassworx low profile box
Rockford Fosgate 150w rms @ 4 ohm, 300w rms @ 2 ohm
unknown 2 gauge A-pillar pod
Autometer boost gauge
Summit Racing A/F ratio gauge

Future Upgrades-
APEXi SAFCII (coming this week, enough fuel to run 18psi-22psi!)
Toyota 4AGE MAF + Swift GTi injectors (coming next month)
GReddy turbo timer (coming next week)
New rims (all 4 are bent enough they cannot be balanced)
Kenwood Deck

Edit-
And just so everyone knows, this car has never been in a shop, the only time a mechanic has gone near it was when I cracked part of the block that bolted to a motor
mount (simply had him put it on his lift so I could get a good underside view, and he's my buddy). I have bought and paid for everything as well as done all the work myself
(along with the help of my father and another friend whose into these cars). I have owned 7-8 of these cars along the way, all on a mission to get one into the
high 14's- low 15's with relatively easy bolt-ons, no bigger turbo, no camshaft or port and polished head, no exhaust manifold, and for it to handle the corners with the big boys.
And it STILL gets 35mpg in the city and 40mpg on the highway, no matter how hard I bag it. ;)
