What would cause a rattle behind driver in a 1995 eagle talon esi when base is on? - Click HERE for Original Thread

hey, i have a 1995 eagle talon esi, and latley right behind the driver seat somewhere it has begun to rattle. this happens when my music bass hits a low enough note and it makes a loud rattle noise. the thing is i have only factory speakers and no subs or amps. what could this maybe be. and how can i fix it?

Maybe a bunch of tiny tiny little ravers?

Sorry I'm a idiot.

I had a problem similar to this. I could hear something rattling when my stereo was at a certain volume. I searched the car completely, and it turned out to be a pop tab in my backseat cup holder. haha. I hope you can find the source a little easier than I did.:D

kanoppesi
ho o really, thank-you. ya this winter when i park it for the summer i am changing my whole car so i will hopefully find it than

kanoppesi
ha that made no sense, i meant when i park it for this winter, i will hope fully have found the noise by next driving season

The factory speakers in DSM's arent really all that great, they're probably blown now. All 4 of my speakers in my Eclipse were blown when I bought them, but I since I no longer care about car audio I left them in and it sounds like tin canned ass. And on another note, our interiors are notorious for mystery rattles.

kanoppesi
o really. so is there blots and screws i can look for when i take my door panels off? o and my windown seems to be the loose thing becuase when i get out of my car and i push on my window it moves in a bit.

Get yourself a Chiltons manual for the car, it'll come in handy as a guideline for things like this. The door panel is easy - remove all screws that you see and anything else thats in the way(hint: trim around handle), then pop all the clips around the bottom, both sides, and a few on top.

As for the window rattle, thats another common issue - sign up on DSMtuners.com and do a search for window rattle and you should find a tutorial on how to rectify the issue.

Hope this helps.

kanoppesi
thanks alot, i appreadiate it

Paul's Eclipse is the only one I've ever seen that doesn't have window rattle.

kanoppesi
o really, is there anything special he did to make that happen?

On the 99, it does not rattle, and has not been fixed yet. On my 96, i fixed it 4 or 5 times in a year. It would last for a month, maby two, then start up again. Eventually i just gave up.

kanoppesi
o really, well i think it is just my speaker now because it is blown

Eclipser
Thats all the rattling thats going on in my 99, is two seperated speaker cones.

kanoppesi
ya that was what my car was to, all the speakers are just messed up ha, those stock speakers suck
