| i dunno how it happend, but i was installing a deck in my 96 pathfinder. i simply removed the clips from the back of the stock deck. wired up all the wires on the new deck to the harness and plugged them in to the harness under the dash. the deck wont turn on, so i tried the old deck, wont turn on.. figured ok i blew a fuse.. every fuse in the box is still good including the radio fuse, however, now my windows dont work nor the blower fans for my heater. everything else electrical works...but i have no blown fuses i have no idea what could have caused this as i touched nothing other then the harnesses that came out of the stock deck. . |

i never touched anythign tho thats what i dont undersand.. the only area i worked in was in the dash.. and there are no grounds from what i can see there
and why would nissan ground the heater, windows and radio together in one thats retarded if they did. |

| maybe a relay??? |

| im assuming it would be a relay, but theres like NOO info on these trucks online man this pisses me off. its like 3 degrees outside i dont even want to go out and attempt anything. i just wish i could get my window up for the time being. |

get a test light, check to make sure that the yellow wire has constant power, the red only with acc, and the black is always ground, find out what wire is not what its supposed to be, then trace your problem from there. Most of the time when you dont have interior lights, its the yellow one that wont have any power.
Everything in your car is fused, so it boils down to a: you blew a fews, and just didn't find it. or B: a wire came loose.
Check under the hood aswell. |

pop your door panel off and use a 12 volt battery to roll it up manually. |

what batteries are 12 volt? or do i just find a car battery somewhere.. also do i just take the positive wire from the switch and touch it to the positive on the battery or do i need to use the neg as well? |
|
|

| you will need to use both positive and negative, its revers polarity, so one way will roll up, then reverse them it will roll down, a car battery works as well as most drill's, 14 volts is also ok. You will need to use the wires coming from the window motor. |

| thanks.. i got the window up.. if only i could find my problem tho.. how do i check relays if they are good or not?? |

| Do you have a test light? If so i'd sart testing the wires behind your deck to narrow down what your after, check the consant power, then the acc, then check to make sure theres a ground, find out what one is not what its supposed to be then you can trace everything |
|
|
| 92_WhItE_H23 |
| theres no power getting to the battery and acc wires. |

| holy, sounds like you blew quite a few fuses, are your interior lights working, and your cig lighter, there usually on the same circut |

i dunno what happened..ive done this a hundred times altho this is my first time on a nissan.. literally all i touched were the wire harnesses that i unclipped from the stock deck and all of a sudden this happens...
everything electrical works. the lights, the heated seats, the wipers.. the only thing i dont see working is the power windows, the heater fan, and the radio. |
|
|
| 92_WhItE_H23 |
| the cig lighter does not work..altho the fuse for that is good as well. |

| did you check the fuses at the box under the hood? sounds like you took out the constant fuse |
|
|
| 92_WhItE_H23 |
| whats a constant fuse?? there are 2 boxes under the hood..one with what looks to be just a bunch of relays, and another with regular fuses and a few relays. i checked all the fuses under the hood none of them are blown, nor are any of the fuse links. |

| did you mount the deck back in the dash?? if i remember correctly those units are chasis grounded, so if they are not mounted back in the dash they won't have a ground |

| Pathfinders have a main accesory fuse under the hood as well. If I remember right I believe its 75 amps and is actually held in with a bolt to the side. They are about an inch square and color coded. I believe that you are looking for a blue or green one. Check near the battery |

| sorry my net was down for 2 days.. long story short.. my ground was no good on the stereo, when i unplugged the stock deck it caused something to short out, and it actually blew a fuse right out of my fuse box, i didnt notice the one missing which is why all the fuses in the box were good, just that i was missing one. i replaced that fuse and got power to my accessories however my radio still wasnt working, after an hour or so of screwing around with it i found out it was a bad ground so i just made a new one. however, because of my deck being too big (JVC kd-avx2) i have to cut into my dash so that the deck will fit right. =( |
