| Recommendations for a cat-back exhaust on a '06 Mazda 6s - Click HERE for Original Thread |

My Mazda6 is a family car, and that's the way I want it to stay. But at the same time, I want to get as much power out of it as I can without making it sound like a Civic wanabe. So really, I'm looking for an exhaust that will give me maximum gain, but won't make old grandma think I'm "one of those kids". Oh, and I don't want to attract attention from the cops and provoke them into giving me a ticket for my tinted windows. :)
I'm considering a Magnaflow and an Injen. Thoughts on those? Other recommendations? |

Injen makes exhaust? An exhaust will give you like 5 hp max. You need intake header(S) and exhaust for any real power. Then your car will be loud. If you want power and for it to be a bit quiet, turbocharge it and put an exhaust with cat and maybe a resonator or three :p.
Basically. Do i.h.e or turbo. A simple exhaust may make it sound good but you won't get any real power.
HINT: Most cars FEEL faster with an exhaust and they are a bit but it's mostly the sound. It gives you the impression of speed. Also, the sound gives you a reason to give it a bit more gas all the time.:blue: |

If your putting a catback on your gonna atract attention unless you get a resonated test pipe. I dont really think its worth putting mods on your car if your only going to drive your kids to school. If you dont want to be one of those kids then probably not a good idead to put a catback on your car?

Ugh, those racen beat exhausts look horrible, they look like someone just put a cap on top of the stock exhaust, which is fine if it was a stock exhaust, but its horrible if it isent.
Get the greddy Evo 2 for your 6, I ordered the same exhaust for my TSX.
Theres got to be some mazda 6 forum which will have videos of different exhausts on ur car.

I guess you don't know the reputation that Racing Beat has in the Mazda community.... |

If you've got the money, do racing beat. It's well worth the money from what I've been told. Those guys can make a buzzing rotary engine sound like butter with their exaust systems. Highly recognized in the rx-7 and mazda communtiy.
Really anything you put on there is going to make a deeper, louder noise, so as long as it's fitted with a good resonator and muffler it won't sound too ricy. I have a vibrant muffler and resonator on my mx6 and it doesn't sound ricy at all. You'll get that ricy sound with a straight through 4" muffler and a straight pipe.
Make sure you get something with some nice exaust tips  |

| racing beat best exhuast for rx-7 with most gains......but down side is most expensive exhuast for Rx-7 ( excluding teh re amemiya exhuast and all Ti exhuasts) and also teh heaviest unit built for 7s.......but it sure sounds sexy |
