Is the Nissan Consult simple to learn how to use? I have the chance of picking one up for cheap and was wondering if I should or not, it's for the Z32 and any other nissan from 1990-1996...I don't want to buy this program if it's going to be super confusing to use...The Nprob looks really easy to use but I doubt i'll find one for cheap. here are some deatils for those who don't know what it (Nissan Consult) does.
Changeable values include:
* the colour and look of your data display
*wheel size corrections for more accurate speed trials
* which gauge shows where on the data display page
* choose degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit, Km or Miles
*flexible comm port setup
*Automatically test your car for appropriate data locations
Active tests
Adjust base settings while driving:
*timing
*change engine temp
*AAC valve
*IACV valve*air/fuel mixture
* turn variable cam timing on/off
* turn fuel pump on/off
* turn cylinder spark on/off
Advanced functions
* Read the ROM data from your ECU
* Monitor your ECUs heartbeat with map trace functions (Only on Z32, but others coming)
*Test your cars performance with a very flexible speed trial. Dial in your own trigger speed, or use one of the preset ones, press start and go! When the nominated speed is reached the timer stops. Made accurate by tire size correction settings.
*Get into the heart of your ECU and watch data at address locations change. Record their min/max values along the way.
Data logging
*Record your cars vitals with the datalog feature. Easy to setup and start, any parameter that is recognized can be recorded. Go for as long as you like, only limited to your laptops free memory.

oh, it needs a laptop, conZult it is. Well it is ~ $450.00 US new, so depending on how cheap it is, it could be a good deal. You def. need a laptop to run it.

The nProbe and ConZult are both emulators of Nissan's CONSULT.
Based on your description, I'm assuming the same as Rob, that you've stumbled on a ConZult for sale, not Nissan's CONSULT. Are we right? |

Make sure it's for the Z32, there are two ConZult packages out there, one for Z32 and ConZult SX for generic Nissan applications. The tuner version is Z32 specific and offers more features, although the SX version will work with Z32's as well. That is a great deal for the software, however, make sure you get the cable that hooks to the Consult port, that is the important piece. Also, I would have the seller hook up to my car and make sure it works before buying
