Brian and Jerry have set the date of the Challenge cup event. June 22nd @ Namao. This is a team solo II event. Teams of 4, fastest time of each team member is taken and averaged. Fastest time wins between all the teams wins.
There are 2 categories which a split according to times. It's a full day of races, and a good time.

All you need for solo II is a snell M95 minimum rated helmet, a battery tie-down, and a working car. If your car is in good working order....it's good to run.
got_ae86: I'm not on a team yet, but it's either a scooby team or a buncha friends. Nothing is finalized yet.......we still got a LONG way off. If you talk around at the races, i'm sure u'll find a team.
Oh yah, where you driving southbound on 127st then west on 118 ave tonite around 1145pm? If it was, that was me in the silver impreza behind and beside you.

In the past, teams were just assigned a letter. I imagine it will be the same this year. There's not a lot of room on the whiteboards for team names. It certainly would add some character to the event if you could name your team though. |

The color was similar to yours i think. It was dark so i couldn't really tell.....and the windows were tinted. Car was lowered and had some multispoke rims.

So basicially you're saying that all the ppl should watch out because they're very far off course and as a newbie I would be very far off course and thats the only way I'll hit them....
My biggest concern is going out there and screwing up and making an ass of myself on the course?!
Are people allowed passengers at any of the regulare autox's before this event because I wanna ride along to see what it's all about! :) |

I was just kidding (mostly).
One of the hardest things about autox for beginners is figuring our where the course is. For some reason, the Challenge Cup course was especially hard to follow last year. Even some of the experienced guys were having trouble and having to crawl around the course on their last run just to get an official time in and not DQ the whole team.
If you attend some other events first it will definitely help. And your first time out, you can usually ride along with someone more experienced and they can ride along with you to give you some pointers. |

Dave on the other hand...
Didn't really matter though. He could have driven 11 seconds faster or I could have driven almost 10 seconds slower and we still would have ended up in 9th place. |

go for a ride along, it's great. MrHeavyFoot, let me soil myselfe in his passenger seat the first time i went out. And his pointers from the passenger seat of my car helped to keep me from killing innocent bystandards. :bigthumbup:

Hehe, see.....it's not an INDIVIDUAL effort Pat. It's about the TEAM. hehe...final places are all that matters! Of course, we only finished 7th overall i think. :blink: :dunno:

Just some more info about the CCCC from the organizers that I got in e-mail. This sure is rolling around fast :)
"I just wanted to let everyone know that you can still add spectator info
until Sunday evening.... as I will be finalizing all the info this weekend
and faxing it in on Monday am...
Sunday night. close to midnight.... I will remove the spectator and team
form once the deadline hits..... and that will be it...
So, please get any info in by Sunday early evening...."
So anyone that wants to come out and watch I guess you'll have to sign up by this sunday, and anyone who needs to submit team information or sign up their guest will have to do so by this sunday... so it seems :)
