Yes. If the course is approved, you can knock 3 demerits off your licence. Google is your friend.

quote:
From Alberta Infrastructure and Transportation at http://www.infratrans.gov.ab.ca/INF...n/dhpage146.htm
If an approved defensive driving course has been successfully completed prior to accumulating 15 or more points, a maximum of three demerit points may be removed from a driving record once every two years

Right now there's an online course being tested, and if you meet certain criteria you may be eligible to take the course and get the 3 demerits knocked off without ever having to leave the confort of your own home.

The Alberta Safety Council offers a good one as well, though it's in classroom, but that just means it's easier to ask questions.

While you're at it, you might want to call your insurance. I'm not sure if it'd matter here in AB, but in many other provinces having a DD course (or almost any other driving course) can knock huge numbers off your insurance (I saved 35% on insurance in Manitoba just for having 4 or 5 driving courses)

This will not make your inssurance go down.

Just reduce the demerits on your license so you dont lose it.

The AMA on Kingsway offers defensive driving courses. Or that's at least where they hold it.
