-the.k.w.c-
well my best friend got a 82 corola for free ..... now we plan on jumping it next year over this barn at my other buddys place so we got to strip it and build a cheap cage.

the car is rear wheel drive and is carberated so i want to know what s the best way to make this thing fast ... super charger something cheap or i can make my self we just wanna mess with it for a couple months its basicly going to be a joke car so if any one know of ways or has parts that may do us some good let me know

its going to be our winter drifter for now we are going to see if we can jack it up like 6 inches so if any one knows of parts that would work or a way of doing that let me know please lol

I don't want to sound like your mother, but you better put something better than a cheap cage in there if you value your safety.

this is prolly the supidest idea yet...Man if you want a farm beater just put some basic upgrades into it..If you think you can jump a barn hhahaha good luck! I've jumped 12m at 3ft high in a strippped firefly and its as fun as you'd think. I ended up pinching a nerve in my elbow and couldn't work for 2months:(

Actually it was pretty sweet though lol

-the.k.w.c-
ya man its going to be sweet
we may just jump it off a dirt hill kinda like a kicker there is one by my bubbys house but its kinda hard to get to so we will see i still need to knwo what i can do to get power tho

tokes
Keep thinking you're gonna jump a barn in an 82 corolla and you'll be just like your sig, except it might be live slow, die young. Who the hell tries to jump a barn?

ya man your just gonna break your front crossmember, rad, possibly a wheel bearing (like I did) and ya it won't be that much fun afterwards lol. Just get another car and smash em up together, thats what we used to do.

LMAO, this sounds like YouTube material (or Darwin award material).

To answer your question, the easiest way to add power is nitrous, but I'm thinking that a bottle of 1000psi oxidizing gas is a little dangerous to have in a car that will be jumping a barn. Either way you can find a super cheap dry nitrous kit off Ebay and push another 50 hp to the tires of your beater Toyota.

My recommendation is to start smaller than a whole barn. A cousin and I managed to find the perfect speed for a Lada Niva to clear a big approach along the highway. You could get a good 4 feet of air under the tires and land smoothly down the other side about 25 feet in distance. The Lada lasted until it pulled a shock apart on the rear suspension from unloading too hard. We should have been wearing helmets too, we were sporting giant foam cowboy hats for better showmanship.

50hp from a dry shot on a carbed 4 banger corrolla motor.......no, not before blowing it up.

in a car that small that you should strip it to start with, you don't need a lot more power, its light. do an open exhaust and a cheap intake, and give it a good tune up.

i'd be more worried about the suspension or unibody coming apart from landing too hard.

hahah man i can't wait to read the paper abtou soem idiot kid killing him self or breakign hsi back while trying to jump a barn in a car hahahahahahaha that day will be better them christmas !

Just don't go tying up a hospital bed of someone who actually needs it. Mount some spikes around the interior to ensure your death wish comes true.

THUD
Man documenting a darwin award with pic's and film would be sweet.
But if you mean as in making the car in to a big remote controll then jumping it over a barn then I say hell ya!!!
save it for a friday night and we can cruise over and watch, but seriosly jumping the car in genral over a height of 1ft becomes painful unless the arch of the road is such that you simply float (IE: like a rally car) but hey try lifting the whole car and droping it from 1 ft above the ground...I bet it won't tickle

Thegnome
No, I think he's thinking of being a dumb ass and driving it. Hense the "cheap" roll cage idea.

Good luck with your project there. But I swear to god if you get fucked up and end up using the 170 dollars I! pay to alberta health and wellness.
I'm unplugging your life support!

gab
i think you should sell tickets to this stunt............ the money raised can buy alot of angle iron welded together with coat hangers to give you the desired roll cage. put me down for a $40 ticket. i hope that ensures me a spot where i can hear the screams as you fly through the air like some kind bird.........lets say......... a dodo??

Fish_e_o
why do you need more power

cars that accelerate slowly still go fast. just take a huge run at it:thumbup:

p.s. you don't need a cage... or a helmet.. or any common sense

Altezza
Kevin your going to kill your self. Mitch isnt going to give you time off either for that haha. Hope you land shiny side up

gab
which side is the shiny side on an 82 corrolla?

Thegnome
Depends on how fucken scratched and mangled the metal gets from tumbling fifty times into an inferno of certain death.

ae86dorikin
compressed air. the motor only has to last a few minutes anyways...

Altezza
Ok as to the shiney side, lets say tires down shall we ? heh

IDTrav
fuck buddy thats awesome haha, get yourself a set of Webers + 75 shot of juice and you'll be set
