A stereotype of 10-15 years ago.

Cars burn all the time. Civics just don't make the news. People enjoy seeing a burning Lamborghini.

Yes but how many civics are on the road? How many Lamborghini's are on the road?

This isn't the only lamborghini that has caught fire recently there has been about 10 lamborghini fires/crashes that I have read about recently.

Vehicles that are mass produced are less likely to run into the same types of problems. As we all know lamborghini's are hand built machines, and human error (building mistakes) could possibily be a factor in the fires. Where as mass produced vehicles are precision built to very percise tolerances using state of the art equiptment.

think of how you would drive a lambo though as regards to a civic:p

Honda sold 313, 159 Civics in 2002.

Lamborghini has built about 8000 cars in it's entire history. The proportions probably work out.

I highly doubt human error in handbuilding the car is a factor. My car (and all NSXs) are handmade, and they don't have reliability problems.

It's a media thing. People like to see burning supercars. Like Randy's Ferrari on TV when he got hit. I'm sure it would have made the news here anyways, but the fact that it was a Ferrari promised air-time.

until a coolant hose goes;)

Ironic that the coolant hose was probably mass produced... :p
