louren22
He originally ran a nitrous setup, did he not?

ChromeDragon
Holy crap, it's Lino!

Nice pass guys. I remember this car being NA before ... was it not?:dunno:

Wookey
That Adam guy sure looks like a mean mother fucker:lol:

Congrats on all the work you put in there Adam and Chris:thumbup:

Adam
Car was carbed with 3 stage nitrous set up 2 years ago. Did a best of 8.2@???? on only 2 stages.

Leno was there with his car...did a 11.6 on the motor and 10.8 on one stage on nitrous a couple of weeks ago.

This new setup we've been building over the winter and summer is what Chris said it was...12.5:1 comp with 34 pound pulley on the blower, 572 hemi, full alcohol.

That day first real pass after getting the fuel scienced out (2 passes before) we did the 8.2 @ 153 with huge slip in the clutch through 3rd and 4th gear. Car left super hard, twisted and lifted the left front tire about a foot in the air...due to the slip in the clutch he shut it down a little before the 1000' mark and coasted to the time above. The car will due 6.60 - 6.80 @ around 195 - 210 when the motor, clutch and chasis are working together. Motor is making enough now to do those times...roughly 2300-2500 hp.

What was the 60 foot when he left super hard?

chris f
1.21 60ft, on sunday the car pulled more in the air, drivers side tire was much higher but it was a 1.34 60ft

ChromeDragon
Wow, was Lino still running the 2.3L?:dunno:

Good to see this car running well. Is that a crate 572?

Sick. You guys are badass

As far as I know, that's been the goal the entire time he's owned the car and he still hasn't been able to do it (And it's always had that potential).

If I remember right, he was making some insane power with the carb setup but could never get the car/drivetrain properly tuned in to run it....

h22civic
I thought Lino was dead.....he disappeared awhile ago after Titan closed. I remember back in the day with his red Prelude on nitrous and Daytons. Just nuts!!:D

Adam
The car on the old set up wouldve done a low 7 but the nitrous was way too hard to get right. Do a search to see how many hemis are running pro with spray...not too many. And the old setup wasnt making insane power either...nothing like what we have now.

Its not a crate motor...Keith Black all aluminum 572 Hemi

Lino's got a 360 in the car now...should hit a 9 in a couple of weeks.

Whats "pro" to you?

Adam
Exactly that...professional race cars and drivers...not weekend TT passes that we do.

And the 60's will be under a second in a couple of weeks.

Theres definetly people out there who do it. My dad's friend being one of them. He only goes out one or two weekends a year to the local races he can afford, but he runs a Hemi setup on 2 stages and has been into the 6.60's or .70's @ 210 or so.

He doesnt have any sponsors, he built the car himself and hes by no means 'pro'. :p

Get expensive REALLY fast...

Whats the size of the motor? size of the stages? Car? And are you sure the engine is a hemi...becuase for some reason its widely known that big nitrous and hemi dont mix...dont ask me why, but thats the word apparantly.

698 Ford Hemi.
Size of stages, Im not sure. Sorry.
I would be willing to bet my life its a Hemi.
I can show you a picture of the motor, if youd like... But I guess by doing that it wouldnt really be proving its gone that quick.

Sorry for the double post. I believe it was Sox and Martin who in the early 1990's tried the Hemi nitrous combo in the "pro" ranks, and I think they made it to 6.50's? before they pretty much hit the wall, that thats as quick as you can go with that setup. 6.50's wouldnt be even close to competitive in any "pro" Pro Modified events so maybe thats why is widely known?

Adam
Thats alot of inches in that motor...It may be a hemi design but its no "hemi" :p :p

How many ignitions? 1 or 2

McFly
a 5m supra engine is a damn hemi:p

Ron@Revolution
So when was that car on the dyno?

chris f
There becomes a point when a dyno will do you know good at all.

Ron@Revolution
Hows that possible when everyone argues that you need to dyno your car to tune it? Shit they even say a stock car should be dyno'd !:p

Is this a dyno in the city that could support the horsepower that car is putting out?
